This study, entitled "Quality of Life and Violence in the Context of Exile Among Venezuelan Migrants," aimed to analyze the living conditions and experiences of violence faced by Venezuelan migrants belonging to the Jóvenes para el Futuro Foundation in the city of Ambato. The research employed a qualitative approach, utilizing self-designed interviews validated by social work professionals and administered to 15 Venezuelan migrants selected through nonprobability sampling. Through the testimonies obtained, factors related to economic hardship, employment difficulties, emotional impact, support networks, and social adaptation problems were identified, all of which directly influence the quality of life of this population. Furthermore, various manifestations of violence were evident, including discrimination, social exclusion, humiliation, and human rights violations during the migration and adaptation process in Ecuador. The results reflect that migration was marked by vulnerability, insecurity, and emotional distress such as stress, anxiety, sadness, and homesickness, primarily due to family separation and economic limitations. However, a significant capacity for resilience, adaptation, and personal growth was also identified, driven by the desire to achieve better life opportunities and support their families.

This research analyzes the information presented by digital media outlets that employ sensationalism and the influence this type of content has on the population. It examines how the reality of insecurity is perceived according to what a media outlet selects as important news for its audience. It considers that some digital media outlets, such as the newspaper El Extra, disseminate news based on "what grabs attention," aiming to generate immediate emotions in their consumers. It takes into account that media outlets prioritize information for dissemination, as seen in crime news, which fuels fear about criminal acts. Immediacy is a constant in the present, and news arrives immediately and in large quantities. As a consequence, it can saturate users' minds, generating a tolerance for this content, a distorted view of reality, or a search for blame, thus preventing genuine reflection on these acts. This study examines how digital media outlets that publish graphic content contribute to the perception of insecurity in 2024. It employs communication theories such as cultivation theory, framing theory, and agenda-setting theory, as the frequent dissemination of crime-related news can create a perception of danger far greater than it actually is. A mixedmethods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative data, was used, employing content analysis with an interpretive paradigm. This analysis describes how the saturated media coverage of violence contributes to collective fear.

This research examines the normative, institutional, and sociocultural obstacles that hinder access to justice for women victims of physical violence in the Parish of Santa Rosa. Although national legislation recognizes violence against women as a serious human rights violation and establishes mechanisms for protection, its practical implementation at the local level remains limited. These shortcomings manifest in delays in reporting procedures, inconsistent criteria for risk assessment, and insufficient issuance of protection measures. The study employs a qualitative approach, supported by documentary analysis, legal review, and interviews with institutional and community actors involved in the local response system. This methodological framework enabled a comprehensive understanding of how legal and institutional shortcomings affect victims” ability to seek and obtain justice. Findings show a significant gap between the legal framework and its effective application, aggravated by limited institutional resources, inadequate infrastructure, and the absence of specialized personnel. The research also identifies persistent institutional revictimization, characterized by repeated recounting of traumatic events, insensitive treatment, and procedural delays. Additionally, sociocultural barriers —including fear of retaliation, economic dependence, normalization of violence, and social stigma—continue to discourage women from reporting or pursuing legal action. Weak inter-institutional coordination further undermines the effectiveness of the justice system in Santa Rosa, resulting in duplicated efforts, fragmented information, and insufficient follow-up in high-risk cases. Based on these findings, the study proposes several recommendations, including strengthening the local application of national legislation through unified protocols, improving training in gendersensitive and trauma-informed approaches, expanding institutional resources, preventing revictimization, promoting community awareness, enhancing inter-agency coordination, and establishing accessible reporting mechanisms and monitoring systems. The research concludes that ensuring effective access to justice for women victims of physical violence in Santa Rosa requires a comprehensive and integrated approach that addresses legal, institutional, and cultural dimensions. Such efforts are essential to reducing impunity, guaranteeing protection, and advancing the right of women to live free from violence.

This thesis analyzes the series Attack on Titan as a political discourse that uses animation to reflect on themes such as war, identity, dehumanization, and the limits of what it means to be human. From a qualitative approach, and applying discourse analysis and content analysis, key scenes from the series are examined to observe how the idea of the “enemy” is constructed and how it is reinforced through fear, propaganda, and social control. The study also reviews the posthumanist representations present in the story, especially the way in which the characters transform into hybrid beings that question what it means to be human and to have one’s own identity. The research shows that Attack on Titan is not only an action story, but also reflects real issues related to power, ideological manipulation, and military structures that legitimize violence. In this way, the series demonstrates how the creation of the “other” functions as a political tool to justify conflicts and exclusions. Additionally, it is noted that the human body, when turned into a weapon or strategic Tesource, occupies a central role within the posthumanist narrative. Finally, the thesis concludes that anime can be a highly influential medium for conveying social and political discourses, shaping viewers” perceptions and encouraging critical reflection on violence, war, and the ways in Which societies justify their actions in the name of security or survival.

Violence against women and girls is one of the most pervasive human rights violations worldwide. Cases occur daily across the globe, with severe physical, economic, and psychological consequences for women and girls, both in the short and long term, hindering their full and equal participation in society. The impact of this violence, on individuals, families, and society as a whole, is profound. One of the primary forms of violence against women is economic and financial violence, which encompasses a range of behaviors, including denying access to economic resources, destroying material goods, withholding personal property, restricting access to bank accounts or savings, damaging property, or forcing the victim to rely economically on the perpetrator.Notably, regulations in Ecuador and many Latin American and Caribbean countries aim to prevent and eradicate this form of violence. In Ecuador, such acts are penalized as offenses through an expedited procedure outlined in the Organic Law to Prevent and Eradicate Violence against Women (LOPVEM) and the Comprehensive Organic Criminal Code (COIP). The methodology employed to study economic and financial violence involved analyzing and describing specific social behaviors classified as malicious acts under the law and subject to punishment. Data sources included technological tools, scientific articles, books, judicial decisions, legal regulations, and interviews with prosecutors, judges, and lawyers involved in the justice system to understand the challenges and applicability of gender-sensitive protocols in prosecuting economic and financial violence.

José Delgado: estéticas y narrativas neobarrocas del periodismo ecuatoriano
(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudenca y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Comunicaciòn, 2025-08-01) Rosero Villamarín, Daniela Abigail; Brito Alvarado, Leonardo Xavier
This research analyzes the journalism of José Delgado, who uses neo-baroque aesthetics to reflect the pain and popular drama in a society marked by inequality and aggression. The main objective is to identify the neo-baroque elements in his reports, such as images of bodies, people in street situations, drug use and scenarios of violence, since he uses colloquial language and intimate testimonies that reconfigure reality and generate an emotional connection with the viewer. The research is based on a critical discourse analysis approach, identifying categories such as the spectacularization of violence and the aestheticization of suffering. The analysis matrix decomposes the content into sociocultural, political, and linguistic dimensions, evidencing the duality between the sensational and the human. The results indicate that his reports not only exhibit crime, but also present an aesthetic of excess and drama, merging compassion, spectacularization and morbidity, transforming suffering into spectacle and turning the viewer into an emotional witness of reality

(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Derecho, 2025-03-21) Bucheli Escobar, Karen Mishell; Vargas Villacrés, Borman Renán
The right to freedom of expression is a fundamental element within society, it guarantees that there is a fair and balanced democracy in the different countries, so that the population when exercising this right can express themselves freely about the different events, being a right enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador, it is guaranteed and safeguarded by the State, which ensures that there will be no reprisals when exercising it. There are international organizations that protect this right, even cataloging it as fundamental for individuals. Therefore, the objective of the research is to carefully analyze the national regulations in Ecuador such as conventions and treaties issued by international entities that safeguard freedom of expression, in addition to analyzing an emblematic case in the country "Radio Pichincha Universal". For this reason, the qualitative methodology was used, employing an analytical, explanatory approach, based on secondary sources to obtain information on the subject. Through the investigation, it is concluded that despite the fact that Freedom of Expression is a fundamental human right and is enshrined in regulations such as the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador and international regulations, it has been violated not only by the Ecuadorian State but even by other countries, since in some way citizen opinion does not benefit the government in power, thus generating reprisals towards the media with the aim of closing them down and not allowing them to disseminate their opinions

Domestic violence is violent acts committed by a family member that harm the well-being and physical and psychological integrity of women, who are exposed to many forms of violence regardless of the stage of their life cycle. A very relevant and important aspect is to analyze the effects that domestic violence causes in the stages of a woman's life cycle and how it affects her daily life in her home, so it is essential to identify the types of violence that have been used, and likewise to the person who exercises violence against the woman. It is estimated that 20% to 50% of women have suffered violence committed by a partner or family member, and a set of beliefs, attitudes and wrong behaviors have been used as an excuse to validate violence against women, resulting in the high rate of femicides in Ecuador, revealed by studies that women were psychologically, sexually and physically abused; They are more likely to have very serious psychological effects such as suicidal behavior, unwanted pregnancies and abortion. Therefore, it is essential that the State guarantees the protection of women's rights at different stages of the life cycle, as vulnerable groups, and the need arises to reinforce the public policy of protection and prevention towards women, by strengthening comprehensive programs that address domestic violence, and access to justice for victims must also be guaranteed.

(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Derecho, 2025-01-29) Garcés Brito, Karen Xiomara; Vayas Castro, Guillermo Santiago
The present research work has as its core in question the singularization of free speech in social networks of violence against women by this means, a subject considered to be the most popular and extensive means of communication available to any person regardless of age and without restrictions, policies that should evolve according to the new information and communication technologies whose purpose has not been limited to entertainment, communication, education, socialization, etc., but to the simple fact of offending, transgressing, threatening or harassing women's rights by publishing their privacy, stalking them, viralizing them without consent or violating them publicly in social networks, but to the simple fact of offending, transgressing, threatening or harassing the rights of women by publishing their privacy, stalking them, viralizing them without consent or violating them publicly in social networks, which is why currently the free speech has been distorted materializing in violence against women camouflaged as ideas, thoughts, criticisms, disagreement, comments and going to the extreme with insults and threats directly from the anonymity; International instruments have established certain limitations and restrictions to free speech on social networks to prevent this type of violence, but these should be applied in conjunction with national regulations, this would demonstrate the link that exists between a misinterpreted free speech on social networks with the violence suffered by women on social networks, a link that should also be demonstrated with an analysis of current regulations and criteria based on legal professionals in order to support in an exhaustive manner a reality that women live through violence on social networks

Street sexual harassment is manifested through behaviors that make people who suffer it uncomfortable. It is a social problem that affects women more because society has normalized these gestures, comments and actions about their physique or they simply relate it. as a “compliment”. Unlike sexual harassment, street harassment does not necessarily involve a relationship between the harasser and the victim. The present investigation seeks to determine the existence of street sexual harassment as a manifestation of violence against women at the Technical University of Ambato. To carry out the research, a qualitative methodology will be used that will allow us to study this social phenomenon through interviews with women leaders who know more about the topic. Awareness and sensitization campaigns play a very important role within the university community, allowing its decrease and fear on the part of the people who experience it. The objective of these campaigns is to obtain an equal and fair society. On the other hand, by reforming the protocol for prevention and action in cases of harassment, discrimination, violence based on gender and sexual orientation that the University has, it helps to inform about this phenomenon and its respective sanctions. However, thanks to primary and secondary sources, it has been concluded that if street sexual harassment exists inside and outside the educational institution and it can be classified as a manifestation of violence because it affects women's emotional well-being, limiting them to develop within any area of their personal and professional life. The normalization of this phenomenon by society has allowed the necessary measures not to be taken to stop and mitigate this problem that harms women, leaving them traumatized and impeding their social well-being
