Item Fortalecimiento de la conectividad y seguridad en la red inalámbrica de la Unidad Educativa Bolívar(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Telecomunicaciones, 2025-02) Jerez Masaquiza Flavio Antonio; Manzano Villafuerte Víctor SantiagoConnectivity and security in wireless networks are essential for ensuring efficient and safe access to digital resources in educational institutions. This project focuses on diagnosing and improving the wireless network at Unidad Educativa Bolívar. The assessment identified issues such as poor coverage, insufficient network segmentation, and weak security measures, which negatively impacted the network’s performance and the user experience. To address these issues, the network was redesigned by optimizing its physical and logical configuration. The optimization process included analyzing channel interference, implementing VLANs to organize traffic and enhance security, and strategically relocating access points to improve coverage. Tools such as Acrylic Wi-Fi Heatmaps were used to simulate and verify the improved coverage, while AutoCAD was utilized to create accurate institutional maps. International standards were also applied for organizing and labeling cables. During the implementation, a complete backup of configurations was performed, outdated equipment in the data center was replaced, and advanced security features were configured. These included WPA2-AES encryption for all access points, VLAN implementation, and the creation of specific rules in Mikrotik routers. The results demonstrated significant improvements in connectivity, coverage, and security, enabling more efficient and secure access to digital resources.Item Visor inteligente para la seguridad de conductores de motocicleta(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Carrera de Telecomunicaciones, 2024-08) Pazmiño Zapata, José Enrique; Pallo Noroña, Juan PabloThe project presents an innovative proposal focused on assistance systems for motorcycle drivers, capable of providing relevant information without the need to look away from the road, this project addresses the need to increase safety and reduce distractions, focusing on the trajectory planned by the driver. The purpose of the study was to design a device that is non-invasive and easy to integrate into the helmet, allowing the visualization of the road and the observation of the information provided from a cellular device. For this purpose, adaptive technologies were analyzed and a prototype was designed capable of providing relevant information to the driver such as application notifications, GPS navigation, time and weather information, with the use of peripherals easy to integrate and transport resulting in a practical device for use in any helmet and easy integration. The results showed an increase in driver concentration and a significant reduction in driving times, with the main characteristic of not obstructing the field of vision, improving the perception of safety. The implementation of this system as an intelligent visor in motorcycle helmets can revolutionize road safety, decreasing accidents and improving the driving experience, this system has great potential for growth, opening opportunities for future research in the development of driver safety.Item Honeynet para análisis, evaluación y tratamiento de riesgos cibernéticos en un sistema iot(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Carrera de Telecomunicaciones, 2024-08) Acosta Proaño, Yulisa Francisca; Sánchez Zumba, Andrea PatriciaThe security of home IoT systems is critical for protecting sensitive data and ensuring the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of information and devices. Nessus was utilized to analyze the vulnerabilities of the most common smart devices on the market. Based on these findings, a Honeynet was designed to expose these vulnerabilities and illustrate potential attacks on home IoT devices. Penetration tests were conducted to assess the security of devices within the home IoT system, as well as tests through the Honeynet, which included WiFi network hacking and control of IoT devices from the LAN. The honeypots deployed in the project are ConPot and CitrixHoneypot, which logged exploits of vulnerabilities CVE-2013-2566 and CVE-2015-2808. Additionally, a custom honeypot in Python was created to capture TCP SYN Flooding DoS attacks on port 6668/TCP utilizing the IRC service. The results of these tests were crucial in developing a risk treatment plan, based on a baseline model for data security, privacy of individuals, and IoT devices in home environments. A GAP analysis was conducted to determine the current state of the system. The risk treatment plan proposes specific controls and policies to mitigate identified risks and enhance the security of the IoT system, ensuring continuous and robust protection for IoT devices in smart homes.Item Modelo de sistema de control interno para la producción en la empresa de calzado Canaan(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. The company CANAAN is dedicated to the manufacture of sneakers, characterized by being comfortable, versatile and suitable for daily use. Weekly, almost a thousand pairs of models are produced, which are created according to current trends, always on order from the warehouses that are throughout the country. Currently, the company does not have a previous study or documents on internal control issues. Therefore, a diagnosis of the company’s situation is started. For this, information is collected through a survey with contrasting and oriented questions to the control systems, inspections and checklists are carried out to guarantee the veracity of the answers and evaluate the available tools. Finally, an interview is conducted with the manager, who has a deep knowledge of all production processes. After analyzing the information collected, an SCI model adapted to the company’s needs is created, the roles and responsibilities of each area are defined, controls are established for process management, inventory, quality, safety, documentation and costs. Internal control not only seeks efficiency, but also protects the assets of the organization. This includes not only financial resources, but also data, intellectual property and the physical security of employees. This is where the idea of implementing new ways to strengthen security in transactional processes arises, and blockchain is considered a viable option due to its solid and immutable structure. An example of the application of this technology can be found in cryptocurrency transactions. The goal of the research project is to shed light on the reliability, structuring, functionality, and role of blockchain technology in computer systems. This will be achieved through the development of a proposal for an educational voting system where the security provided by its basic structure is verifiable. In this case, the electoral system ensures that transactions or votes exercised enter a network known as the blockchain, and each transaction is integrated to form a complete network. This project arises due to the increase in crime in taxi cooperatives in the area, so it seeks to implement an effective method to reduce crime and victimization through facial recognition of the driver and the passenger. The importance of this system lies in its ability to obtain relevant information about passengers, such as possible legal issues, whether they are wanted criminals or have criminal records, which contributes to preventing dangerous situations for both passengers and the driver. Additionally, the facial recognition of the driver ensures that the vehicle is only used by the designated driver for that unit, increasing the safety of the passengers. An alcohol test is also incorporated, which can reduce the number of accidents caused by intoxicated drivers. The implementation of this system heavily relies on the existence of advanced facial recognition technology and IoT platforms that allow real-time data collection and visualization. The effects of implementing this system are highly significant, as it not only improves the quality of service provided by Patriatax S.A. taxi company but also increases the trust of users in public transportation. By combining the connectivity of devices and sensors with the power of real-time data analysis, an advanced monitoring system is achieved that makes it possible to identify potential threats and proactively prevent security incidents. Accordingly, the purpose of this investigation was to implement a monitoring system with IoT technology to provide security to the General Administration and Financial Departments of the Tisaleo Municipal GAD. For the implementation of the system, it starts from the selection of the electronic components that will make it up, considering the requirements both in technology, hardware and software compatibility that facilitate coupling between each one. The security system is made up of security cameras, motion sensors, access control and alarm. which are strategically distributed in key areas of the entity. The implemented system includes cameras that detect movement during a scheduled time. capturing images, storing them in a server folder (hosting) via FTP, and sending emails with movement notifications. The designed application runs tasks in parallel and checks emails to update the alarm status in the database. In addition, an access control system is incorporated using a fingerprint sensor that allows access authorization to the Treasury and Mayor's offices. Finally, it will be concluded that the implementation of IoT devices in the design of the security system improves the response capacity and the integration of the system. ensuring greater protection for the personnel and the resources of the GAD. In a practical way, it is an ability that certain people make use of to obtain information, access to information systems that allow them to carry out some act that harms or exposes the person or organization involved. For the development of this project, the DigitalOcean platform was used for the virtualized cloud service, the Gophish framework was used for the creation, planning and execution of attack simulation, using the Phishing technique and the Hunter.io tool for the discovery and collection of emails. It is important to evaluate the security of computer systems that handle information of the institution, however, the human component that manipulates this, can become a source of disclosure of the same, being useful for an attacker. Therefore, it is of vital importance to know the level of cybersecurity awareness of students and teachers. The main objective of these tests is to strengthen Information Security in the institution, reinforcing the security awareness of students and teachers of the Faculty of Human Sciences and Education, preparing them to face different risk scenarios that could occur in the event of a real attack.Item Sistema de gestión técnica de seguridad industrial para la prevención de accidentes laborales en la empresa Multirepcar(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial en Procesos de Automatización, 2022-09) Naranjo Romero, Christian Alberto; Gavidia García, José LuisThis research work was carried out at the facilities of Multirepcar, a company dedicated to the repair of light and heavy vehicles, distribution of lubricating oils and marketing of spare parts in the central zone of Ecuador. The problems in the company are due to the presence of risks that influence the generation of accidents and occupational diseases, so the objective is the development of a technical management system of industrial safety for the prevention of occupational accidents. The technical management included four main stages. In the first stage concerning the identification of risk factors, hazard identification sheets were used for each work station, systematizing the most relevant information for the study, identifying thirty sources. In stage two, regarding the evaluation and assessment, the binary method was used for an initial estimation of the risk factors, with 53% of the risks of mechanical type prevailing, which were assessed with the William T. Fine methodology, then for the physical risk due to noise, a sound level meter measurement was performed based on the strategy of the work position (function) according to the UNE-EN-ISO 9612 standard, obtaining noise levels that are not high risk, then the ergonomic risk due to forced postures was evaluated with the REBA method, obtaining a medium and high risk level, and finally for the risk of major fire accident the MESERI method was applied, determining a very slight risk due to the existing fire control systems in the company. Therefore, it is concluded that there is a need to implement controls mainly for mechanical and ergonomic risk factors, for which certain control and improvement measures were established for the different risks detected, focused on minimizing possible accidents in the company.Item Evaluación de riesgos en las instalaciones de la empresa de faenamiento "SUPER POLLO'S SM"(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial en Procesos de Automatización, 2022-03) Rosero Torres, Jefferson David; Morales Perrazo, Luis AlbertoThe occupational risks present in the poultry slaughtering companies that influence the generation of accidents and occupational diseases, this problem is not different in the slaughtering company "Super Pollo's SM", for which the research has as objective the evaluation of risks potential found in the facilities of said organization. To carry out the evaluation, a quantitative approach is used with a descriptive investigation, in which the identification of sources of danger is addressed through observation, risk estimation through the matrix of the binary method and evaluation of the most important risks through of the use of the William T. Fine methodology for mechanical risks, Biogaval for biological risks, GINHST for ergonomic risks due to lifting loads, psychosocial risk evaluation matrix of the Ministry of Labor of Ecuador, measurement for the case of noise through the UNE-EN-ISO 9612 standard and lighting uniformity working with the Mexican 025S standard. The results show that workers are exposed to falls of people at the same level, handling of sharp tools, lifting loads, avian influenza, on the other hand, the presence of nonuniform lighting was determined with a breach of the 4 areas at 64.98%. Therefore, it is concluded that there is a need to implement controls for mechanical, ergonomic, biological risk factors and lighting uniformity, which are linked to possible accidents and illnesses within the organization.
