Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Telecomunicaciones, 2026-06-30) ;Gavidia Masaquiza, Carlos Paul ;Robalino Peña, Edgar FreddyUniversidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de TelecomunicacionesThis project develops the design of an environmental monitoring system based on LoRaWAN technology, aimed at contributing to the recovery and sustainable management of the ravines of Ambato canton, using the Pisocucho ravine as a case study. The proposal focuses on monitoring soil moisture, soil temperature, and electrical conductivity, variables associated with the environmental conditions of the study area. The methodological process included geographic delimitation using Google Earth Pro, spatial processing in QGIS, and a digital elevation model obtained from OpenTopography to characterize the terrain. Based on the territorial analysis, the location of the gateway was defined. In addition, the radioelectric behavior was evaluated using Radio Mobile, while network performance was analyzed through simulations in OMNeT++/FLoRa, considering alternative gateway locations, transmission power levels, and environmental conditions. Gateway G1 was selected as the main reception point based on criteria of physical security, accessibility, available height, and operational feasibility. In the final validation of the critical scenario, with high precipitation and an effective power of 17 dBm, fifty independent 24-hour runs were performed. The statistical results showed an effective PDR, according to FLoRa DER, of 29.10% ± 0.67; an average RSSI of −120.12 dBm ± 0.08; an average SNIR of 121.72 ± 4.85; and an average total energy consumption of 63.55 J ± 0.69. These results show that the proposed design constitutes a technically viable basis for implementing an environmental monitoring system in the Pisocucho ravine. Carrera de Software, 2025-02) ;Aguas Núñez Christian XavierIbarra Torres Oscar FernandoThe purpose of this work was to design and implement an automatic irrigation system based on Fuzzy Logic and Internet of Things (IoT) in the Garden Nursery “El Mirador”, located in Pelileo, Ecuador. This project arose due to the limitations of manual irrigation, which generated variability in plant growth and inefficient water use. To address this problem, the XP methodology was adopted, integrating the needs of the owner and workers into an automated system capable of monitoring temperature, soil and environmental humidity. Sensors, an ESP8266 microcontroller and a Grafana-based graphical interface were implemented, with a modular architecture that facilitates future expansions. On the one hand, the results showed significant improvements in irrigation efficiency and plant growth. On the other hand, the implementation reduced inter-species variability and optimized the use of labor time. Specifically, species such as Eugenia, Lemon and Candle Pine showed increases in growth rate of 37.83 %, 27.92 % and 26.75 % respectively (p < 0.001). However, the orange species showed a slight reduction (-0.32 %, p = 0.0087), highlighting the need for specific adjustments. In short, the system achieved an average increase of 28.39 % in growth efficiency, evidencing its effectiveness in greenhouse optimization and its potential to be replicated in similar agricultural environmentsItem type:Ítem, Sistema de monitoreo para la calidad de aire ambiente de la ciudad de Ambato utilizando drones(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Telecomunicaciones, 2024-08) ;Martinez Diaz, Edgar GustavoGuamán Molina, Jesús IsraelMonitoring the ambient air quality of the city of Ambato is a current and relevant environmental need that allows air pollution to be identified. In this degree work, an ambient air quality monitoring system is proposed, which combines the use of drones and sensors, mainly the SDS011 to measure PM2.5 and PM10 particles, providing data in real time. The applied methodology is based on the use of drones equipped with sensors that collect data from multiple locations and heights. Data transmission is carried out through two slave nodes and one master node based on esp32 Lora, allowing reliable and efficient communication. The proposed system has a cloud server which facilitates the storage and analysis of data from anywhere in the world. The research is framed in the use of remote monitoring technology, so the integration of drones and sensors in the same prototype for the aerial evaluation of air quality is of great relevance, in such a way that it offers broad and detailed coverage. that overcomes the limitations of existing systems. It also has a focus on integrating data in real time with systems that help make data publication faster and more accurate. The structure it has allows for scalability and adaptability in different environments and other environmental needs found in the air. Data analysis is carried out using Minitab software, where significant patterns and relationships in air pollution are identified. The same ones that help to make early decisions in the face of possible air pollution, with these events, effective strategies are taken to improve air quality in Ambato.
