    Análisis de los servicios digitales utilizados por las bibliotecas universitarias de la provincia de Pichincha frente a la crisis sanitaria covid-19.

    Las bibliotecas universitarias desempeñan un papel importante para la enseñanza, aprendizaje y constantemente fomentan en investigadores, estudiantes y público en general el acceso al conocimiento. Justamente la incorporación de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación, han permitido una transformación digital en sus unidades, y este hecho fue evidenciado con mayor énfasis con el aparecimiento de la covid-19, que exigió mantener los servicios informacionales para la comunidad académica en un entorno virtual. Las unidades de información universitarias, con la llegada de la emergencia sanitaria, puso en desafío su funcionamiento y servicios, se tuvieron que cerrar salas de lectura y la presencialidad de estudiantes desapareció. En consiguiente obligó a tomar ajustes inmediatos, acelerando el empoderamiento de las TICs. En este contexto se puede decir que asumieron el reto de encontrar mecanismos que permitieran mantener el interés y comunicación con la comunidad universitaria de usuarios. Para este fin se introduce la utilización de redes sociales; en este campo se analiza el impacto que desempeña la implementación de estas tecnologías en las Bibliotecas Universitarias. xii La investigación analizó en 19 Bibliotecas Universitarias, las implicaciones que tuvieron y tiene en el uso de las redes sociales, se evidencia que en lo referente a infraestructura tecnológicas, están preparadas, sin embargo carecen de personal capacitado para el mejor uso y conocimiento de aplicaciones de redes sociales, asi comó marcar una hoja de ruta de fortalecimiento del uso de estas tecnologías. Se evidenció que es necesario fortalecer el área administrativa para el manejo de las redes sociales, para dar un salto cualitativo en la aplicación de políticas que aseguren la implementación de una biblioteca 2.0, aprovechando la participación activa y el compromiso de los usuarios en la formación de la arquitectura de la comunicación y la creación de la inteligencia colectiva en beneficio de la educación superior.

    Podcasting in the development of the listening skill

    The accelerated growth of Information and Communication Technologies has a great influence in all areas of human activity. Specifically in education, its impact has been evident in many aspects of teaching-learning processes. In this research we analyzed the influence of Podcast, a tool categorized in web 2.0 technologies, in the development of Listening Skill. After proposing the theoretical and conceptual basis of support for the research, through an experimental design applied to students of the first semester of the career of the National University of Chimborazo, it was demonstrated that the use of this technological tool improved the listening skill of the students. To execute the experiment, two groups were generated, one of control and the other experimental; in the first, traditional learning strategies were applied with teacher-student interaction while, in the experimental group, Podcast was used intensively. At the end of the experiment a standardized test was applied to evaluate the listening skill, finding a significant statistical difference between the two groups which allowed to conclude that the tool does have an influence on the development of this skill. The average obtained in the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, which led to the conclusion that there was a positive and significant influence of the Podcast in the development of the listening skill. Therefore, a proposal focused on the intensive use of Podcasts for the teaching-learning process of the language, specifically to develop the skill object of this study, is put forward. According to the findings of the study, it is recommended to generate training courses on the use of this type of technology, aimed at teachers involved in teaching the English language and a second language in general.
