The province of Tungurahua markets products either in the agricultural or manufacturing field, the state of the roads is important for the development and the well-being of the population, for this reason it can provide sufficient support in terms of security. road. and user comfort. For this reason, the plan generated the conservation process of the Pelileo -Cotaló layer in the 4+000 - 8+000 cuts of the province of Tungurahua where a georeferenced survey was conducted, the study of vehicular mobility, proves the two lands. and the field of understanding the properties and structural behavior of the pavement. From the results obtained, the study of the arterial road RI is indicated, according to the condition of the pavement, using the method of the condition of the pavement PCI, it is determined that the road is in good condition since its average is 64 points. According to the regulations in force, the analysis was conducted only in the laboratory with modified samples, which gave a soil classified A-2-4 and A-1b and presenting an average of 11 percent of CBR belonging to the basement Good. On the other hand, the road was built on the sidewalk with the Benkelman Beam test, which caused us a kind of deviation. Based on these results, a specific maintenance and training program is proposed, which will allow the project to fulfill its useful life.

The present experimental work focuses on the analysis of the soils of the Huambaló parish, through correlations of the California Bearing Ratio (CBR), Dynamic Cone Penetration (DCP), Modified Proctor, Liquid Limit, Plastic Limit, Granulometry, Specific Gravity and Field Density tests, which allow defining the index and mechanical properties of the soil. Once the study area was covered, 12 sectors were established in which rectangular pits of 1.50 m x 1.50 m and 1.00 m deep were made, from which altered samples were extracted for subsequent analysis in the laboratory. Once the tests were completed, the results were tabulated and interpreted, achieving relevant correlations between the index and the mechanical properties of the soils under study, with acceptable R2 squared coefficients of determination and a good degree of reliability. Finally, the flexible pavement was designed, using the CBR determined in the laboratory, and also the CBR calculated by correlations, obtaining the same thicknesses in both cases, confirming the reliability of the correlations performed, with results that are intended to help reduce costs and speed up work times on site.

The present research work consists of the development of a program coded in a graphical interface in an appropriate software, for the processing of data from soil mechanics tests: natural moisture, field density, granulometry, Attemberg limits, SUCS and AASHTO soil classification, modified Proctor, and California Bearing Ratio, having as input data the information collected from performing such tests. For the creation of the program it was necessary to review the different criteria of the tests according to AASHTO, ASTM, INEN standards, in order to standardize the calculation processes both manually and using the program. The verification and demonstration of the validity of the results was carried out by checking the manual calculation and the program, analyzing three samples taken, obtaining a null error, which verifies that all the information obtained with the program is totally reliable. As a result, a soil manual and coding algorithms were elaborated.

This project focused on knowing the effect that rice husk ash can produce on the physical-mechanical properties of subgrade soil. In this study, soils were taken from three different places from Puyo, in order to carry out a comparative analysis of the CBR values between the natural soil and the soil stabilized with rice husk ash. In situ essays were carried out such as: Open Excavation and Field Density (Ottawa´s Cone and Sand Method) and laboratory tests such as: Moisture Content, Granulometry, Specific Gravity, Atterberg Limits, Modified Proctor and CBR. When the modified Proctor and CBR tests were carried out, soil samples were mixed with rice husk ash were used in percentages of 0, 1, 3, 5 and 8. When obtaining the CBR values were obtained, a comparison was made between two flexible pavement designs, the first design was with the CBR value of natural soil and the second design was with the CBR value of stabilized soil. When we obtained the thicknesses of the layers of the flexible pavement, the design with stabilized soil, a decrease in the thickness was obtained. At the end of the designs, an economic analysis was also made, to find out how rice husk ash influences the cost of a road.

The aim of this research work is to determine the existing correlations between the laboratory CBR, DCP, of the Index and Mechanical Properties, of the parish San José de Poaló, For the execution of this project, samples were taken from 12 types of soils located on the main roads of the sector. After taking samples, field and laboratory tests are carried out to determine the different properties of the analyzed soils. Once data from the different tests carried out have been obtained, the most significant correlations between index and mechanical properties are determined, taking into account that these correlations help the optimization of time and resources on site, giving a total of 22 correlations taking between two and three variables. The reliability of these correlations varies between 50.25 percent to 97.53 percent, which is considered an appropriate degree of reliability. Regarding the determination of the CBR, it shows little variation, which is considered a good relationship with minimal errors because the real value calculated by means of laboratory tests indicates the same thickness of the different layers of a flexible pavement.

This experimental work aims to find correlations between the CBR and the index and mechanical properties of granular soils belonging to the parishes of San Bartolomé de Pinllo and Constantino Fernández. To begin with the sample collection process, three representative roads of each parish under study were selected. Subsequently, in each route two points were located where the field tests were to be carried out and in turn, the extraction of soil sample for the respective laboratory tests. A total of 12 samples of approximately 50 kg were taken for the soil study. Once the field and laboratory tests were completed, the results were analyzed and interpreted to classify and identify the type of soil. To obtain the correlations, statistical processes such as regression and correlation analysis were applied through the least squares methodology to determine a correlation coefficient greater than 50 percent to validate the correlation between the properties. Finally, 25 correlations were obtained with a correlation coefficient R2 ranging from 55 percent to 95 percent. In this way it is affirmed that if it is possible to obtain a property based on another property of the land.
