Implementación del proceso de conservación de la estructura de la capa de rodadura de la vía Ambato – Tisaleo sector Santa Rosa – Juan Benigno Vela en el tramo de la abscisa 6+400 hasta 9+600 de la provincia de Tungurahua

The work presents a conservation model for the current state of the structure of the wearing course of the Ambato-Tisaleo road in the Santa Rosa - Juan Benigno Vela sector in the section of the 6+400 to 9+600 abscissa, for which a series of tests and studies were carried out to obtain an objective and realistic evaluation. The georeferenced survey of the section under study was carried out by recording coordinates through a GPS satellite receiver every 20 meters, data that allowed the representation and location of the track in a digital way. The current and future traffic of the road was determined by counting vehicles during one week, exposing the road as a multi-lane AV1 route. A visual inspection was carried out applying the PCI method, reducing to 15 sampling units to be studied, resulting in a PCI of 82.30 percent, qualifying the road as in good condition. Obtaining the deflections of the wearing course with the Benkelman beam, in 17 different points of the track, resolving that the track generates type I deflections, which means that the structure of the pavement and its subgrade present stable conditions. Four open pits were made, to determine the behaviour of its subgrade, mainly its CBR value which was a value of 10,4 which this result determines the soil in a range from fair to good for subgrade.
