Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2023-03) Rueda Leguisamo, Christian Fabricio; Acosta Lozada, Rodrigo Ivan, The García Moreno - Urbina road to the sector of the Artesana of the Comunidad Santa Lucia de Chuquipoguio, has a road in poor condition unsuitable for trade, productivity and tourism of the inhabitants bordering the sector. Due to the problems of the sector, the geometric design of the road is made according to the present regulations of the NEVI, MOP and AASHTO, which has a roadway width of 6.00m and a shoulder of 1.00m, in addition the hydraulic data help to assume a width of 0.80m of ditch, as well as culverts of a diameter of 1.20m, covering the future fluvial conditions of the site. According to the soil study, a C.B.R. of 10.37 at the subgrade level was obtained, which is estimated that an improvement of the road platform is not necessary, the pavement structure consists of a sub-base of 0.15m, a base of 0.10m and a wearing course of 0.065m, thus providing safety and reliability for the driver. The referential budget was made and it will be delivered together with the geometric design of the road, to the GAD Parroquial Rural de San Andres, Canton Guano, Province of Chimborazo, to be used for the benefit of the communities, all this as a contribution of the Technical University of Ambato.Item Estudio definitivo para el mejoramiento de la vía Cuatro Esquinas – Nitiluisa, parroquia Santiago de Calpi, cantón Riobamba, provincia de Chimborazo(2022-09) Caiza Freire, Dennys Oswaldo; Acosta Lozada, Rodrigo IvanThe project is carried out in agreement with the GAD rural parish of Santiago de Calpi and the Technical University of Ambato. For the design of this project, international standards such as AASHTO, SUCS and ASTM were used: AASHTO, SUCS and ASTM, and in national standards, were: MOP 2003, NEVI 2012, MOP -001-f 2002 and INEN 2011, based on these, the objectives to be addressed were carried out, such as: traffic count, topographic survey, soil study, geometric design of the road, hydraulic design, pavement design, signaling and budget. The road has a length of 4404.36 meters; according to the traffic count and its respective analysis, a fourth order road was determined, where a total width of 9.20 meters was necessary, including lane width, curbs and shoulders. The topographic study consists of a 40-meter strip width starting from the road axis; for the soil study, borings were made every 500 meters starting from the 0+500.00 km abscissa. The geometric design included: horizontal and vertical design, cross sections, mass diagram and cut and fill volumes. The improvement of this road is a fundamental part for the development of the parish of Santiago de Calpi, since it allows improving livestock, agriculture, tourism and communication between neighboring sectors, as well as providing safety and comfort for road users. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2024-08) Sánchez Figueroa, Ivette Carolina; Acosta Lozada, Rodrigo IvanWith the need to have an updated database and with it a road maintenance plan, this project was developed with the objective of obtaining updated information on the status of the roads that make up zone 16 in the city of Ambato. In this project, georeferenced data was collected using a Global Positioning System (GPS), as well as visual analysis of failures in road infrastructure. Technical sheets were used to collect the necessary data and calculate the condition of the roads using the pavement condition index (PCI) method, identifying the level of severity of the failures and evaluating the quality of the wearing course. In addition, a reference budget was prepared for each type of failure found, taking into account the items necessary for the maintenance and repair of roads, sidewalks and curbs in the study area. This resulted in a series of failures found in the three types of pavements, the majority of medium and low severity, even so, with the calculation of the PCI it was established that there are good and very good classification roads, concluding that these roads need a periodic maintenance, all this was reflected in the database that was obtained with the record of all the faults found. In addition, a reference budget of $104,226.45 US dollars was estimated for the maintenance plan. This will be delivered by the Technical University of Ambato to the Municipal GAD of Ambato.
