Item MEMORIA DE TRABAJO Y COMUNICACIÓN FAMILIAR EN PERSONAS CON DISCAPACIDAD(2025-03-05) Abril Sánchez, Doménica Micaela; Flores Hernández, Verónica Fernanda; Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología ClínicaThe objective of this study was to identify the relationship between working memory and family communication in people with disabilities. A sample of 40 people, aged between 20 and 64 years, belonging to a day care center in Ambato, Ecuador, was used. The research adopted a quantitative, descriptivecorrelational, non-experimental and cross-sectional approach. The INECO Frontal Screening (IFS) and the Family Communication Scale (FCS) were used for data collection. The results showed that there is no significant correlation between both variables; the mean score in working memory was 2.20, while the mean score in family communication was 37.3. In addition, statistically significant differences were found in the perception of family communication according to sex (T (38) = 2.43, p < 0.05), with men reporting better communication in the family environment compared to women.Item MEMORIA DE TRABAJO E INDICADORES SOCIODEMOGRÁFICOS EN PERSONAS CON DISCAPACIDAD(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2024-09-06) Luna Aguirre, Michelle Estefanía; Flores Hernández, Verónica FernandaPersons with disabilities face limitations in their abilities, which can affect executive functions, including working memory, which allows them to temporarily retain and manipulate relevant information to perform complex mental tasks. The research was aimed at determining whether there is a relationship between working memory and socio-demographic indicators in persons with disabilities, taking into account factors such as age, sex and household sector. A quantitative approach was employed with a non-experimental design and a correlational descriptive scope. Work was carried out with 90 registered persons in disability centres in the province of Tungurahua-Ecuador. Through the application of the Ineco Frontal Screening and the sociodemographic file. The results showed an association between sex and working memory. Furthermore, no significant correlation was found between working memory and age, nor was there any association between work memory performance and residence sector. Cl. Mg.Ageing is commonly associated with cognitive impairment and the loss of other abilities, especially regarding to work memory, that is a function that allows receiving a quantity of information, support it in the short term and operate with it until a preestablished objective is reached. This function becomes slower in an elderly age; as a result, it is necessary to investigate preventive interventions to promote positive ageing, in order to achieve a reduction in the prevalence of chronic diseases such as Alzheimer, senile dementia and others, which have a considerable impact on the context near elderlies. The objective of the project was to determine the effectiveness of cognitive training. This was focused on the guided practice of standardized tasks and especially designed to improve certain cognitive functions, in this particular case, working memory, which contributes to the behavior, daily functioning and state of mind. The study responds to a qualitative-quantitative, quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test measurement using the subtest "Working Memory" by NEUROPSI: Attention and Memory to a single group of 20 elderly people who also received an intervention through cognitive stimulation activities that are present in the book “Cuaderno de Ejercicios de Estimulación Cognitiva para reforzar la Memoria” (by Ansón, et al., 2015) where a significant difference was identified for the subtest "Digit retention regression" (Retención de dígitos en regresión) comparing the pretest and the postest, whereas for "Cubic regression" there was not such difference. Thus, cognitive training denotes efficacy in improving and/or maintaining working memory function in elderlies. Psi. Clic. Mst, Ismael AlvaroThis research arises from the need to verify if there is a relationship between sleep deprivation and working memory in employees of nightlife centers. 30 empleyees of bars, discos and karaoke bars have been evaluated using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) for the independent variable; On the other hand, for the dependent variable working memory, the subtests of the Weschsler Scale for adults III were used. As results, a correlation was obtained between the variables. In addition, several factors have been raised that may be determining factors for sleep difficulties in this population. Cl.This paper has a proposal for analyzing how academic stress and working memory are related among college students. I applied two sub-test called Neuropsi (neuropsychological test battery) that allow us to measure working memory. Also, I used a tool called Sisco (structure and internal consistency) that enables us to measure the academic stress. The data obtained, I analyzed throughout statistical software called InfoStat. The subjects that I analyzed have among seventeen to twenty-seven years old. They have been selected under inclusive and exclusive criteria; it realized a transversal court study because the test had applied once. It was a non-experimental test because there were not variables manipulation, and also it was a correlation study because the target of calculus and analysis were to determine if two variables mentioned were related. To verify the hypothesis raised, I tested the original variables through Spearman's rank correlation and Student's t-test. The data shows us that there is a negative correlation among Person's values, p (-0,20 & 0,0349); this confirms that the hypothesis is available; it means that the working memory and academic stress are co-related. I can establish three kinds of levels between college students; these are physical, psychological, and behavioral stress; these types of grades of stress can measure as mild, moderate, and severe. Physical stress.- I established that 32% of subjects show severe stress, 35% moderate stress, and 33% mild stress. Psychological stress.- the data displays us that 31% have severe stress, 34% have moderate stress, and 35% have mild stress. Behavioral stress.- I got that 37% of subjects show severe stress,31% moderate stress, and 31% mild stress. The results show us among all subjects evaluated; there were 31-37% of students have a severe level of Academic stress; it means the 3rd part of college students. The data obtained among college students about working memory display us that 35% of students rate as mild, it means there are a considerable number of students have issues in their working memory, it can affect their academic performance. The leading causes of academic stress are overload tasks, Homeworks (FR- 41 & 37%), and also professors' personality (FR 38, 34%).
