NUTRICIÓN INFANTIL Y DESARROLLO COGNITIVO, UNA REVISIÓN DESDE LA ETAPA GESTACIONAL
(2025-06-18) Sánchez Mayorga Damaris Nataly; Robayo Zurita, Verónica Alexandra; Universidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Carrera de Nutrición y Dietética
During pregnancy the mother's body requires an adequate balance of macronutrients (proteins, carbohydrates and fats) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) to support both her own health and the development of the fetus. Incorporating a variety of foods in the diet ensures that diverse nutritional requirements are met, which is vital for preventing deficiencies that could hinder the growth and development of the newborn. A well-balanced diet not only aids in the physical growth of the fetus but also in its cognitive and neurological development. This becomes particularly crucial during the early stages of central nervous system formation, starting from the first weeks of pregnancy. Maternal nutrition directly influences the cognitive development of the child. Essential nutrients like folic acid, omega-3 fatty acids, iron, and iodine play a key role in the proper development of the brain and nervous system. A deficiency in these nutrients can result in cognitive developmental issues, such as learning difficulties or impaired intellectual growth. Inadequate or imbalanced maternal nutrition may compromise the child’s brain development, emphasizing the need for education and access to appropriate nutrition during pregnancy

Complications in the state of gestation are a risk factor for both maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality worldwide. The objective of this research was the early identification and correction of those states of abnormality during pregnancy development, termination and immediate postpartum; all of them related to maternal weight gain. The methodology of this research was directed prospectively over a period of 12 months, through a recruitment stage and another of follow-up stage of the 96 pregnant women who met the inclusion criteria attended their prenatal checking at the Latacunga type C Health Center, using the information that is on the basis of medical records , guaranteeing the confidentiality of the same. The results were obtained by calculation of relative risk, a statistical measure that allowed determining the degree of significance of each variable identified for the appearance of complications, where adequate or inadequate weight gain played the most important role. In conclusion, a statistical significance of inadequate excess weight gain was found due to the presence of morbidities that would disturb the normal course of this stage.

Determinación de Niveles de la Enzima Lactato Deshidrogenasa y su Relación con los Trastornos Hipertensivos Durante el Embarazo
(Universidad Técnica de Ambato.- Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud .- Laboratorio Clínico, 2016-11-01) Tomaico Orbea, María Belén; Tinajero Vásconez, María Fernanda Bqf.
This researching project was done with the goal of determining the levels of the enzyme lactate dehydrogenase and relates with the hypertensive disorders during pregnancy in patients attending to the Gynecology Area of the Hospital Basic Latacunga Clinic and patients attending to the Maternity Area of the General provincial hospital Latacunga. It has been made an association study of variables in which was attended by 81 women of 15 years and older, in gestation period of 3 to 9 months or puerperal state and hads problem of gestational hypertension. They were performed to patients having blood drawn for the respective laboratory tests in compliance with the proposed objective. As a result of the determination of the levels of lactate dehydrogenase enzyme from the 81 patients it was obtained that 38% of patients have normal values of 222 U/L to 450 U/L LDH HUMAN, while 35% of the values are decreased less than 222 U/L and 27% of the values are elevated higher than 234 U/L. It is observed that patients with high levels of LDH are related to the presence of a hypertensive disorder during pregnancy especially preeclampsia, accompanied by clinical data of interest along with other laboratory tests. The hypothesis testing was performed using the CHI-SQUARE X2 test statistic, and comparing the result of Chi2 calculated that equals 109.383016 with Chi2 Tabular its value corresponds to 5.9915; it can be seen that the Chi2 Calculated is greater than Chi2 Tabular; therefore the null hypothesis is rejected and the alternative hypothesis that tells us that "The levels of lactate dehydrogenase enzyme are elevated in hypertensive disorders during pregnancy" is accepted.

El Método Leiva en el Desarrollo del Vínculo Afectivo en mujeres primigestas del Centro Terapeútico “Multisensory
(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud-Carrera Estimulación Temprana, 2016-03-01) Egas Calahorrano, Adriana Marina; Martínez Freire, Angélica Maricela Dra. Mg
This research work is based on Lewis Method as an important contribution to the development of bonding that exists in the pregnant woman and her baby, favoring brain maturation allowing a better quality of life. The Therapeutic Center "Multisensory" is an institution created with the mission of providing and provide valuable methods and strategies that benefit the development of the children who attend it, is a program of prenatal sensory stimulation, created with the apparent need to seek to achieve a pregnant significant experiential accommodation process towards the formation of their babies, and the possibility of maintaining a harmonious balance between them; controlling stress, counseling and treatment prior to their difficulties; and in this way can also potentiate their intrauterine fetal maturational skills training. This new approach would strengthen the idea that controlling and lowering the high states of stress of the mother, and strengthening affections favorably influence the baby.
