Item Inteligencia emocional y flexibilidad psicológica en estudiantes universitarios(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2024-03-01) Gómez Muñoz, Anthony Andree; Vargas Espín, Alba del Pilar Psc. Cl. Mg.Emotional intelligence emphasizes the ability to attend to, understand and process one's own and others' emotions, while psychological flexibility focuses on connecting with the present moment and the ability to react to changing situations appropriately. The main objective of this research was to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and psychological flexibility in university students. The study was carried out by means of a non experimental, cross-sectional, quantitative, descriptive-correlational design. With an initial population of 881 students to which a non-probabilistic convenience sampling was applied with a final sample of 235 participants (72 men and 163 women), with an age range of 18 to 30 years. The scale for the evaluation of the expression, management and recognition of emotions (TMMS-24) was used to evaluate emotional intelligence and the Acceptance Action Questionnaire II (AAQ-II) was used to evaluate psychological flexibility. The results showed a slight positive relationship (Rho=0.378, p<.001) between the emotional attention dimension and psychological flexibility. The conclusion was that the greater the emotional intelligence, the greater the psychological flexibility.
