    Process-genre based approach and the writing skills

    The current research is expected to assess the relationship of Process-Genre Based Approach (PGBA) and how EFL students improve their Writing Skills (WS). This was an experimental investigation in which a mock Ket Writing Part pre and post-test were applied to assess the WS elements as: content, organization, and language. To improve those elements, PGBA was utilized inside the classroom such as: planning, drafting, revision, correction, and publish. The subjects of the examination were the third semester students of Pedagogía de los Idiomas Nacionales y Extranjeros at Universidad Técnica de Ambato. The study population is made up of 31 students from third semester as the experimental group (EG). Pearson’s correlation test contributed to find the relationship between PGBA and the WS. The findings were that in Content students got an improvement of 0,7 %, in Organization got 0,9%, and in Language got 0,3%. Thinking about the results of this examination, the conclusion of the investigation is drawn as the followings. English Foreign Language Students vanquish their Writing Skills issues by using Process-Genre Based Approach to communicate in English Language

    Turn-taking strategy and the speaking skill

    The present research with the topic" Turn-taking Strategy and the Speaking Skill" focused on analyzing how Turn-taking strategy impacted in the Speaking Skill. This research project was carried out with students of third semester of “Pedagogía de los Idiomas Nacionales y Extranjeros” major at Universidad Técnica de Ambato. To achieve that goal, bibliographic research and field research were applied. The methodologies that were applied in this research were qualitative and quantitative approaches. This research was experimental and the instrument was a standardized test. Also, the design of this investigation was quasi-experimental which provided evidence to prove the hypothesis. The researcher applied the pre-test to identify students' speaking skill. Next, the investigator applied three turn-taking strategies such as taking the turn, holding the turn and yielding the turn with different speaking texts. After that, a post-test was taken to detail how turn-taking strategy impacts in the speaking skill. This research project concluded that turn-taking strategy impacts in the speaking skill. Besides, to have a positive result, it was important that in turn-taking strategies specific speaking text must be selected because this strategy worked better grouping learners in pairs or groups, and it was useful to make an outline of how each strategy should be used and give examples, so that learners could guide by themselves and produce language.

    The starfall app and the reading skill

    The main objective of this research is to help third year students of basic education of the "Continental School" by using the application "Starfall" which will serve as a participatory pedagogical resource in the process of improving the ability of reading in the children studied, for this it was necessary to focus on a quantitative methodology due to the surveys, pretest and posttest applied in relation to the tests carried out before using the application with the data after having used it, obtaining a result favorable to the application demonstrating that there is a notable improvement with the use of the application "Starfall" which helps, strengthens and improves the ability to read, and understand the English language in 11 children which are in an age range of 7 and 8 years to which the study was subjected, mentioning that the improvement obtained was due to the fact that it was carried out in a didactic way and with different activities. It is to the liking of students and with support in technology for its development, it is worth mentioning that the application serves as support due to the current reality that is experienced by the COVID-19, making it easier for students to actively participate from home.

    Blogs and the writing skill development

    This research work's objective was to analyze the impact of blogs on the development of writing skills in the English language. The participants were 67 students belonging to the third year of Baccalaureate from “Rodríguez Albornoz” High School. The methodology used had a quantitative approach, with a quasi-experimental design since two groups were the study subject; one control and one experimental. In addition, a pre-test was applied to determine the level of competence in writing skills of both groups. It was assessed by means of a rubric that contained five writing sub-skills such as content & creativity, organization, punctuation & spelling, language and style. In the same way, the intervention was performed, in which the use of blogs was incorporated with the experimental group for eight weeks. Therefore, each week the students who took part in the experiment had to publish a blog with the assigned topic. Furthermore, there was one week in which the students were introduced on the use of blogs, their creation and the writing process as well as the structure of articles. Likewise, before the publication of each blog, various activities were carried out for the students to become familiar with the topic; such as, brainstorming, reading articles, taking notes about videos or conversations, discussions, summaries, etc. In addition, guiding questions were provided so that students can write their blog without any difficulty. Subsequently, the post-test was applied for both groups. The data obtained in the pre and post-test were analyzed through T-student. The pre-test results revealed that the students in the control and experimental groups had a low level of writing skills. However, after the intervention with blogs; the students in the experimental group showed a remarkable improvement in the development of written skills. Therefore, the impact of blogging on students' writing ability was demonstrated

    Mobile learning and the development of english language vocabulary

    The current research named “the Mobile learning and the development of English language vocabulary” is focused on the problem that students does not manage technological devices to acquire a second language. This research is expected to analyze the relation between technological tools and the learning process of acquiring English vocabulary. The methodology that was applied during this process of evaluation was qualitative and quantitative by applying a pre-test and post-test which allowed to have results to know the English level of the students, proficiency in the target language before and after the application of the test. The subjects proposed for the application of the test were second semester university students of “Pedagogia de la actividad Fisica y Deporte” major at Universidad Técnica de Ambato. The conclusion of this research was that technological devices and the common method of teaching have a good impact on students. In both cases, students obtained an improvement on their English level. On the other hand, at the moment to implement technological devices, an improvement was evident in the experimental group. This means that the use of technologies has good results as it motivates students in a better way

    Italki social network app and writing skills

    The purpose of this research was to determine the influence of the Italki Social Network App in the development of the writing skills of the students from eighth semester of Pedagogy of National and Foreign Languages at Technical University of Ambato, in which a qualitative and quantitative methodology was used with 10 students, who used the application for two months. The data collection was developed through the Cambridge FCE test, which was applied at the beginning and at the end of the investigation in order to determine the level of the writing skill in the students of the eighth semester, focusing on the comparison of results to determine the effectiveness of the strategy established. According to the development of the research, it was found that the use of social networks favors the writing skill because students feel motivated. Situation that was validated with the application of the ITALKI network, which gave good results because it was possible to observe an increase in the number of students that reached the required learning of 30%, going from 30% to 60%. Additionally, there is a 30% of students who master the required learning
