In the case of Ecuador, in cities such as Quito and Guayaquil. In smaller cities, such as Riobamba, Facebook remains the first option. From the first presidential period of Rafael Correa, with the purpose of incorporating more citizen participation strategies, the National Secretariat of Communication (Secom), which regulates the contents of the National Government institutions, defined social networks as permanent channels for the information dissemination. Based on this, this research project was designed to analyze the contents published by the Government of Chimborazo in its Twitter account and how these influence the information agendas of Riobamba's journalists and media. For the purpose, three data collection tools were used: a survey, a matrix for content analysis and two interview formats. The paper, pencil and the cassette recorder took second place with the technologies and social networks, which now puts the citizen in direct and immediate contact with the information. These new options for journalism also bring their disadvantages when they are not used in the right way, more if it is to publish a red chronicle. The reporters, wanting to be the first to report a fact of the chronicle, commit errors that threaten those involved in the news, which in many cases are replicated by other means of communication, thus generating a lack of credibility. The problem focuses on the results or consequences of handling false data and publishing them on social networks. Disregard the laws or rules to inform a chronicle, which concerns security or human rights. Chronicle journalists have a five-year preparation to perform their role. By linking with the social network Twitter, it makes it easier for their news to reach thousands of users and in less time. However, due to the immediacy of a high-impact event, both journalists and security institutions report the first data they obtain, generated by citizens. These errors would lead to losing the credibility of journalists or media, which could receive civil suits for using names not involved or facts that can not be revealed before previous investigations of the Office of the Prosecutor or the Police. The contribution that this research will give to the journalistic field of the red chronicle in social networks, specifically Twitter, will be that of having a better handling of the information to guarantee the credibility of the usersItem Criterios de noticiabilidad y su influencia en calidad de los contenidos en los soportes digitales de los medios impresos de Ecuador(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Posgrado, Maestría en Periodismo Digital, 2018-12) Beltrán Romero, Juan Francisco; Tamayo Rodríguez, Alicia PaulinaThis research work sought to establish the relationship between the criteria of newsworthiness that are applied in the newsrooms of the ecuatorian national newspapers and the quality of the contents that these media publish in the different format they use: print, digital and social networks. In the study it was identified that the age (41 % understands 40 and 50 years, 36 % is between 50 to 60 years, 18 % between 30 to 40 years, and 5 % is between the 20 to 30 years) it is a slant factor for the project because the journalists of radial newscasters wake up a low interest in the use of Twitter and like journalistic source likewise, as regards the basic aspects like informative official sources. The percentage of participation with the community is relatively low (41 % hardly ever interacts with its followers, 32 % almost always interacts, 14 % sometimes interacts, 9 % always interacts and 5 % never interacts with its followers); hence one makes necessary that the communicators of radial newscasters diminish the digital illiteracy and by means of the proposal they know the creation of content and the use of Twitter, including also important aspects like the hipertextualidad, multimedialidad and interactivityItem La formación de los comunicadores sociales en la Universidad Estatal de Bolívar y su relación con los requerimientos de la Comunicación Digital(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Posgrado, Maestría en Periodismo Digitalta, 2017) Vega Angulo, María José; Naranjo Gamboa, Byron OrlandoEXECUTIVE SUMMARY Media convergence and new technologies have modified the routines of journalists and journalists in content production. This tool of communication is strong in the print media, but its greatest growth occurred with the emergence of the internet, this technology made the photography shine with its own light which is used by most citizens of the world to strengthen what they post on each of their social networks, and digital media cannot get by without its use. As expected, this tool of communication is the most used by journalists, the need to inform the community instantly makes that thousands of graphics are uploaded to the Internet in a matter of seconds, most photos are supported with a small text called caption, which usually describes what happened in that event. Ambato has three print media (El Heraldo, La Hora and El Ambateño), which post information on the web, the research indicates that their users prefer to learn seeing photos and reading headlines. Taking into account that they have great acceptance, according to the survey, and their followers’ demand for better photographs, a proposal was made in order to improve the contents and graphics in each of the digital newspapers. If professional and empirical people who make photojournalism for the digital media in Ambato, agree that photography is the main support to issue information. Here lies the importance of integrating hyperlinks, links, keywords, references; and finally, a final cyber-journalistic element is interactivity, which defines the environment and the news space between navigators and digital media. The current digital media are indispensable tools for achieving greater communication with citizens, and this is where digital native media are important, and are called to inform in a timely manner of facts that concern the whole society. The transmedia narrative must be implemented in digital native media in order to inform citizens in a timely manner with accurate information regarding the social needs of the population. According to these arguments the present investigation was developed, with the theoretical support of the transmedia narrative and the digital native media; in addition to the field work that was carried out in the city of Latacunga through surveys directed to the population of the central helmet and to professionals of the communication. In the genesis of the presence, development and incidence of digital platforms, web pages were the first virtual channels, then the use of social networks —Facebook, which since 2004 marks a new form of social and communicational relationship in the world— from there came the applications and other platforms that became alternative channels, of which the world of arts and the cultural industry were not alien, and nowadays they are means not only of connection but of exchange and interactivity with diverse public. Arts such as cinema, the publishing industry, music —whose development options face the frenetic action of Youtube— the visual and performing arts and the presence of new scenarios for the action of art and culture are available to all, the Disclosure of their production does not leave aside or abandon the role of conventional media, but diffusion fields are opened through the network. The intention of this research is to approach the forms of dissemination or dissemination of cultural products that predominate in the art world in the age of connectivity, from there, propose and develop strategies and scientific methodologies of communication and information of what this was, the production of artistic and cultural informative discourses, as well as that pregnant woman, still no nascent cultural industry, or content industry in Cuenca and Ecuador. The promotion-publication of information generated by the culture, whether from the institutional, from the management of the actors, promoters and managers, no longer depend on the market lines determined by the mass media; rather, they are projected without borders to wide spaces inside and outside the geographies where they originate, the sectors are increasingly broad and diverse. In this time, users, audiences, consumers are not only receptors, the possibility of interacting, producing and expressing their opinions, ie usability, gives the quality of being prosumers and co-creators.Item Proceso de verificación de los Tweets dirigidos hacia agencias de Gobierno caso de estudio: Alcaldía de Cuenca-Ecuador(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Posgrado, Maestría en Periodismo Digital, 2018-12) Contreras Ambrosi, Jorge Isaac; Tamayo Rodríguez, Alicia PaulinaDigital media change the way in which citizens communicate to government agencies, and therefore traditional journalists must adapt to this new relationship to survive. Citizens or citizen journalists communicate to government agencies their requisition through social networks. It is to say, without the intervention of professional journalists. However, it is necessary that a traditional media verifies citizen messages before it is received by government agencies. Therefore, traditional media acts as a filter that analyzes the credibility of citizen messages. Our aim was to study the process of verification of tweets done for a traditional media. The study was developed in the city of Cuenca, specifically among: (1) Citizen messages in Twitter or tweets (requests, needs) done to the Major Office of Cuenca. (2) The Community Manager Office of the Major Office of Cuenca who gets the citizen messages. (3) The radio stations La Voz de Tomebamba and Cómplice FM that have spaces destined for the transmission of citizen messages. A qualitative - interviews - and quantitatively - sampling and statistical analysis of tweets- approach was used in this research. Based on that approach we want to identify which is the process of verification that the mentioned radios realize to tweets. Is observed that radios do not have a standard process of verification of the citizen messages; nevertheless verification sometimes depend on the number of re-tweets, "I am charmed with it" or positive comments. Having no been a process of check established there is distrust in the Major Office. Then, we realized a matrix of verification of the tweets directed to the local agencies of government. The aims of this matrix to unify and standardize the verification processes, so that traditional media can gain credibility.Item Producción y distribución de narrativas en el periodismo de Tungurahua(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Posgrado, Maestría en Periodismo Digital, 2018-11) Herdoíza Mancheno, Franklin Germánico; Escandón Montenegro, Pablo AndrésThe study addresses the issue of the production and distribution of transmedia narratives in Tungurahua journalism as a new language of convergence, opening the possibility of telling stories and broadening the participation of audiences in the construction of narratives, whose role as journalist is aimed at to inform in the best possible way by combining media with graphic-audiovisual supports on social networks such as Facebook. In this way, within the methodological process, the quantitative study has been taken into account using a survey and interviews and the qualitative study through observation, with a sample of 25 journalists (graduates and non-graduates) as well as 9 media executives of Tungurahua whose results allowed to determine the level of production and distribution of Transmedia Narratives in the journalism of the province, as the main objective. The conclusion reached after the analysis and interpretation of results was that the production and distribution of Transmedia Narratives in journalism in Tungurahua is not significant, adding to the fact that there is no interest in interacting with the audience to which, in addition, he is not interested in the publications issued by the media. Likewise, it was determined that there are no journalists specializing in transmedia narratives in the province and, therefore, they are unaware of the form and logic of its construction; concluding, likewise, that the competitive level with other provinces is relatively low, which in practice means that digital journalism is not being exercised to facilitate the distribution and production of Transmedia Narratives; what does not generate reliable or dynamic information. This is despite the fact that there is clear knowledge of the benefits that ICT offers to the field of communication in the treatment of information to the interaction with prosumers.Item La redes sociales como herramienta de apoyo para la búsqueda de personas desaparecidas caso David Romo Cordova-Ecuador(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Posgrado, Maestría en Periodismo Digital, 2018-11) Gavilanes Estrada, Liliana del Rocio; Tamayo Rodríguez, Alicia PaulinaThe phenomenon of missing people local, national, and internationally has become a more evident social nightmare. Many cases of missing persons, in Ecuador have been registered. According to the National Police Office, DINASED, and other related organizations, some of them have been solved. Nevertheless, many of the cases are still under investigation. It seems that the Estate official search requires specific and specialized elements. Since 2013, the National Direction of Crimes Against Life, Violent Deaths, Disappearances, Extortion and Kidnapping (DINASED) as the Spanish acronym states, the institution put a lot of efforts on personnel training to serve in a better way. The organization’s goal is to serve to all the families that report missing relatives. They work on expedite the actions to search and find the missing persons and presumed responsible for the crime. Under this context, this action research is based on the case of David Romo Cordova, a young quiteño disappeared since May 16th, 2013, and the social media context around this case. This action research studies the social media as a space for support, broadcasting, and complaint as well. This work required the use of qualitative method. It was based on interviews, observation, and analysis of Facebook and twitter accounts of Mrs. Alexandra Cordova, David Romo’s mom. These are the accounts that David’s mom uses to spread the word about his missing son. Alexandra Cordova uses the social media with the idea that the social media have a great ratio on reaching out people to know about his son. The achievement of a maximum broadcasting of David’s face and he being missing means a great step forward to find him and determine who is responsible of this case. This work proposes to create an informative blog regarding missing persons, with relevant information that connect similar cases in order to be resolved. The blog will also contain information about actions to follow, ways to approach cases of disappearances, ways of families approaches on similar cases. The content of this research must be validated and reliable sources to make the message sustainable. Under these circumstances, the social media are reliable and sustainable spaces to broadcast and visualization rather than not only a space to spread the word.Item Las redes sociales como herramienta de información pública y difusión de la Gestión de la Coordinación zonal 3-Salud(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Posgrado, Maestría en Periodismo Digital, 2018-12) Aguilar Aliaga, Myriam Guadalupe; Naranjo Gamboa, Byron OrlandoInformation and communication technologies (ICTs) make global inroads in a very aggressive way, provoking and proposing changes in society in all aspects. Many of these are innovative and transform the forms of communication and interaction. These technologies brought with them the social networks, which constitute basic communication tools, which is used by most people, without limitation in age, sex, ideology, among others. In our environment we see that continuous use is made of them either to inform or communicate; people, companies, public and private institutions use them. In the Ministry of Public Health, its Zonal Coordinations in particular, it also makes use of social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. Through these networks, the Institution's work is reported, its Operating Units (Hospitals, Centers, Subcenters and Health Posts), daily through the personnel responsible for communication and institutional image upload information on actions and activities carried out by its authorities. However, there is little use of these tools to educate the population. Although health issues are broad and diverse, they could be disseminated in an appropriate, innovative and creative way through social networks, which would allow optimizing this communication resource and reaching the population in a more direct and timely manner.Item Las redes sociales digitales como elementos de comunicación en organizaciones comunitarias(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Posgrado, Maestría en Periodismo Digital, 2018-11) Vélez Andrade, Adriana Katerine; Martínez Bonilla, Carlos AlbertoThe objective of this research is to strengthen the elements of community communication in the administrative water boards of the province of Azuay, for which we proceeded to the use of research methods and techniques that allowed the proper development of the same. For the gathering of information it was necessary to apply interviews to the directors of the community organizations studied and an observation guide to the social networks (Facebook and Twitter) of the water boards; After this, the existing problem was visualized, which basically lies in the management of the contents published on social networks for the transmission of information to users; so it is prudent to describe a proposal focused on strategies to improve the quality of information through social networks; Basically, these strategies focus on improving the types of content published, as well as redesigning the pages of both Facebook and Twitter in a way that effectively takes advantage of existing tools on the page; It is also recommended a series of indicators that will allow evaluating the effectiveness of the application of strategies in improving the quality of information disseminated. Finally, it is recommended to the administrators of social networks that they be trained in topics related to the effective management of Facebook and Twitter, making the most of the use of these systems to disseminate information in a fast and timely manner.Item Redes sociales en el pueblo Kichwa Salasaka: estudio comparativo entre nativo y Millennial gigital(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Posgrado, Maestría en Periodismo Digital, 2018-08) Masaquiza Masaquiza, José Bernardo; Martínez Bonilla, Carlos AlbertoThe globalization of information derived, among other things, the accelerated advance of telecommunications that has led to the easy access to knowledge of other cultures and traditions; Due to this, it is common to see how society has been appropriating foreign fashions and cultural patterns, leaving behind the native cultural and folkloric roots, losing cultural values and identity. The use of digital social networks is changing the dynamics of life; for example, Facebook constitutes a space of communication where different cultures and ideologies converge, between patterns of behavior, social relations, traditions; in itself the elements that ancestrally have been part of the culture of individuals, which are being modified by the impact of this medium. The structure of Facebook induces the user to join a hegemonic language in the network; However, it is not only the network that leads young people to forget the language, for example the Kichwa, but it is the same context of the indigenous youth that makes the learning of a Kichwa reader-writing impossible; so the transfer of the language to the social network has not had its development according to the generations that have experienced the advance of digital communications. For an educational model of literacy in digital culture and technology aimed, mainly, at the training of adolescents and young people as citizens of the digital ecosystem. For this, we have structured this essay in three sections. In the first we describe the main characteristics that define the so-called generation of young people born at the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st (which some authors have called Millennials) as a contemporary generation and deeply marked by the emergence, generalization and omnipresence of digital technologies. In the second, we approach the concept of digital identity as a key and substantive element to be able to function successfully in cyberspace as a subject with definite identification signs.
