Item Testeo de herramientas de IA para la enseñanza-aprendizaje de la destreza productiva speaking del idioma inglés(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Carrera de Software, 2025-02) Changoluisa Santacruz Johan Ariel; Guachimboza Villalva Marco VinicioThis research addresses the need for effective technological resources to enhance the productive skill of speaking, a critical competency in the English teaching-learning process. Its main objective is to evaluate, compare, and select Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools through a systematic testing process, focusing on measuring the effectiveness of these technologies in developing the teaching-learning process of the productive skill of speaking in English. The methodology was developed in three phases. First, a systematic literature review was conducted in scientific databases such as Google Scholar, Scopus, SciELO, and Taylor & Francis to identify relevant tools for the study. In the second phase, an observation sheet with specific evaluation criteria was designed to analyze the tools. Finally, the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method was applied to rank the selected tools based on key criteria such as precision, real-time feedback, and accessibility. The results showed that ELSA Speak and Orai obtained the highest scores due to their precision in real-time feedback and their specialized focus on improving pronunciation and fluency. Alongside tools such as Duolingo and Speechling, they offer innovative and accessible solutions for developing speaking skills in English. The rigorous and systematic testing using the AHP method validates the utility of these AI tools, enabling students and educators to access personalized, effective, and adaptable technological resources that meet the current needs of English language teaching.Item Aplicación móvil para la automatización del proceso de gestión de pedidos en la ferretería “Perfitool”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. In recent years, the use of technological tools has seen a notable increase, driving the development of both small businesses and large companies. The purpose of this project is to implement technological solutions in Perfitool to optimize its order management, improve its reach, and consequently boost the growth of its sales. Specifically, the development of a mobile application is proposed to facilitate interaction between the business and its customers, offering a more convenient ordering experience while optimizing the use of available resources. Mobile applications have become a key tool to strengthen the relationship with customers, enabling more direct and efficient communication. Carrera de Software, 2025-02) López Galarza Edison Orlando; Ibarra Torres Oscar FernandoCustomer service channel saturation has been a growing challenge for many companies, especially with the rise of platforms such as WhatsApp. According to a 2020 McKinsey & Company report, the use of instant messaging for customer care increased by 80% globally, leading to critical saturation that limited companies' efficiency and ability to grow. This phenomenon highlighted the urgent need for technological solutions that optimize customer service, without compromising service quality. The purpose of this research project was to address this issue at Ingedemy, where the saturation of customer service channels, particularly WhatsApp, hindered agile and personalized interaction with customers. The initiative focused on developing and implementing a robust Artificial Intelligence (AI) solution that would improve the clarity of information, reduce response times and personalize each user's experience. The solution adopted integrated several technologies, including a chatbot based on GPT-4, web scraping techniques to obtain updated information and a web platform for performance analysis and lead management. The chatbot interacts efficiently through WhatsApp, using a NoSQL database in Firebase, the web platform includes a Kanban board and a dashboard for metrics visualization. This integration enables smooth and efficient management, optimizing processes and improving the customer experience.Item Desarrollo de un prototipo de sistema de control automático para la mejora del manejo de invernaderos: caso de estudio Vivero Garden “El Mirador”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Carrera de Software, 2025-02) Aguas Núñez Christian Xavier; Ibarra Torres Oscar FernandoThe purpose of this work was to design and implement an automatic irrigation system based on Fuzzy Logic and Internet of Things (IoT) in the Garden Nursery “El Mirador”, located in Pelileo, Ecuador. This project arose due to the limitations of manual irrigation, which generated variability in plant growth and inefficient water use. To address this problem, the XP methodology was adopted, integrating the needs of the owner and workers into an automated system capable of monitoring temperature, soil and environmental humidity. Sensors, an ESP8266 microcontroller and a Grafana-based graphical interface were implemented, with a modular architecture that facilitates future expansions. On the one hand, the results showed significant improvements in irrigation efficiency and plant growth. On the other hand, the implementation reduced inter-species variability and optimized the use of labor time. Specifically, species such as Eugenia, Lemon and Candle Pine showed increases in growth rate of 37.83 %, 27.92 % and 26.75 % respectively (p < 0.001). However, the orange species showed a slight reduction (-0.32 %, p = 0.0087), highlighting the need for specific adjustments. In short, the system achieved an average increase of 28.39 % in growth efficiency, evidencing its effectiveness in greenhouse optimization and its potential to be replicated in similar agricultural environmentsItem Desarrollo de los módulos iniciales del cloud ERP para la empresa Dimar Group(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Currently, it operates with a system that presents multiple limitations, hindering both business growth and the optimization of various internal and external processes. Additionally, the system prevents the automation of several tasks that must be performed manually. This project develops an initial phase of a new Cloud ERP system, incorporating management, inventory, sales, and billing modules. It leverages modern technologies that enable the integration of various cloud services, reducing processing times, improving the user interface, expanding functionalities, and allowing for the long-term implementation of additional services that will contribute to the company’s growth. The Cloud ERP system includes enhancements to existing features and introduces new functionalities aimed at reducing work time in areas such as inventory management, customer management, product management, sales management, and user management. The development of this web application was carried out using the Next.js framework, which integrates both the front-end and back-end of the application. For deployment, Vercel was used, while MongoDB was chosen as the database management system. Additionally, other technologies, such as AWS for electronic signature storage, were implemented. The validation of requirements was conducted through testing in a controlled environment, yielding positive acceptance and a reduction in operational process times. Carrera de Software, 2025-02) Jaramillo Collazo Christian Marcelo; Núñez Miranda Carlos IsraelThe present research addresses the implementation of a mobile application for patient management at the Pet’s Home veterinary clinic, located in Ambato, Ecuador. Faced with the challenges of manual paper records, which lead to difficulties in access, errors, duplication, and loss of information, the project aims to optimize clinical administration through technology. The mobile application, designed in Android Studio using Java and supported by a .NET API, enables centralized and secure registration, consultation, and updating of information. The agile methodology Extreme Programming (XP) was employed to ensure rapid and adaptive deliveries. Additionally, SQL Server was selected as the database management system for its performance and compatibility. The results demonstrate that digitization ensures data integrity and facilitates remote access, allowing veterinarians to make informed decisions in real-time. This system not only addresses operational challenges but also enhances service quality, promoting more precise and timely care for pets and their owners. The research concludes that the digital transformation of clinical processes at Pet’s Home is a crucial step toward modernizing the veterinary sector in the region.Item Aplicación móvil utilizando realidad aumentada para agilizar el tiempo del proceso de adopción de mascotas en la “Fundación Paquito”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Carrera de Software, 2025-02) Suárez González Kevin Jesús; Jara Moya Santiago DavidThe animal shelter ”Fundación Paquito” is a non-profit organization that aims to provide care and attention to abandoned companion animals. However, it faces various challenges related to the management of animal information and the adoption process. This project proposes the implementation of an augmented reality mobile application with the aim of streamlining the adoption process. The app allows users to view, through the camera of their mobile device, a representative 3D model of the animal, thus avoiding the need to physically travel to the Foundation. In addition, the application provides a detailed profile of each animal, allowing users to better understand its characteristics and reinforce their decision to adopt. This represents a significant benefit for the Foundation, as it contributes to reducing the returns of adopted animals. The mobile application not only facilitates adoption, but also manages the entry of animals to the shelter, as well as the record of dewormers and vaccines administered. Various technologies were used for its development: the application programming interface (API) was implemented with Spring Boot and PostgreSQL as the database manager, while the user interface was developed with Flutter. The augmented reality functionality was built using the Unity editor. As a result, an augmented reality application was developed that significantly reduces the time required for the adoption process, since it eliminates the need for adopters to travel to the Foundation to meet the animals.Item Aplicación web para la gestión de información e indicadores de calidad en la implementación de un plan de mejora continua por parte de la Dirección de Gestión de Calidad de la Universidad Técnica de Ambato(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Carrera de Software, 2025-02) Carrasco Santos Erick Josué; Ibarra Torres Oscar FernandoThe Quality Management Directorate of the Technical University of Ambato faced challenges in quality management due to the lack of centralized data, inconsistencies in information collection, and delays in the manual calculation of indicators, which led to delays in strategic decision-making. To address this issue, the project aimed to develop a web application to manage information and calculate quality indicators efficiently, optimizing the processes of the Quality Management Directorate. The purpose of the application is to centralize data, validate its consistency, and automate analysis through interactive dashboards, using modern technologies such as Golang for the backend and Svelte for the frontend. The Extreme Programming methodology enabled agile iterations and adaptations based on constant user feedback, ensuring a user-centered development process. As a result, the processing time has been reduced from 35.5 hours to approximately 6 hours, representing an 83% reduction through the use of the system. Additionally, the accuracy of the indicators has improved, and continuous monitoring of academic quality has been facilitated. The project has strengthened the institution's ability to implement efficient improvement plans and make strategic decisions based on reliable and up-to-date data.Item Auditoría de seguridad web como herramienta de diagnóstico de vulnerabilidades de la página web del Centro de Transferencia de Tecnología - Talleres Tecnológicos de la Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Carrera de Software, 2025-02) Martínez Núñez Bryan Eduardo; Fernández Peña Félix OscarThis research aimed to conduct a web security audit using pentesting techniques to detect vulnerabilities in the CTT-TT page of FISEI during the 2024-2025 academic period, applying the CVSS scoring system based on which possible solutions will be proposed to improve computer security. The methodology combined bibliographic, field, and experimental research. Data collection was performed through interviews, direct observation, and specialized tools such as Nessus, ZAP, and OpenVAS. Among the results obtained, critical vulnerabilities were identified, such as the use of an unsupported PHP version (CVSS 10), and configuration issues, including accessible directories, absence of HSTS, insecure HTTP methods (TRACE/TRACK), and clickjacking vulnerabilities. Based on these findings, a proposal was developed to strengthen computer security, which included software updates, disabling HTTP TRACE and TRACK methods, blocking directory browsing, implementing Anti-CSRF Tokens, and data validation and SQL injection prevention. Finally, a new analysis with Nessus showed the elimination of all critical and high vulnerabilities, as well as the mitigation of medium and informational risks. Carrera de Software, 2025-02) Cayo Tipan Kevin Joel; Nogales Portero Rubén EduardoThe growing number of online stores and the abundance of information about technology products make it difficult for consumers to make purchasing decisions. Browsing multiple websites to compare options has become a complex and overwhelming process. This can lead to hasty decisions or the purchase of products that do not meet expectations, and even, in many cases, to the final abandonment of the purchase. The technology product recommendation system offers functionalities such as product visualization, generation of recommendations, visualization of product details and the option to add products to a list of favorites. For the development of the progressive web application (PWA) and its graphical interfaces, React.js was used. In addition, the Flask framework was used to implement the REST API services, while MongoDB was used as the database manager, ensuring efficient and structured information management. The results obtained from the evaluation of the recommendation system were positive. There was a notable decrease in the time required to search and make purchasing decisions. These results validate the effectiveness of the system in optimizing purchasing decisions.
