Ft.; Robalino Morales, Gabriela Estefanía Lcda. Ft.Mg.The most frequent complications after abdominal surgery are mainly related to cardiorespiratory problems, which affect the physical condition and quality of life of patients. Considering that timely postoperative physiotherapy allows to reduce hospital stay times, complications associated with prolonged bed-ridden and eventually associated morbidity and mortality rates; The study proposed to design a respiratory exercise program for post abdominal surgery patients at Hospital General Ambato. For this, a systematic review of scientific information was initially carried out in the main data bases, obtaining after a selection and screening process 5 articles that supported the respiratory exercise program with a duration of 3 to 4 weeks; This was reviewed by 5 experts and validated through the calculation of the content validation coefficient (CVC) after applying the suggestions; The program was then socialized with interested professionals and the level of satisfaction was measured with a liker scale. The results showed that respiratory exercises in all the analyzed studies were effective in reducing postoperative pulmonary complications of abdominal surgery; while in the CVC by item and total, after applying the suggestions, a coefficient of 1.0 was obtained, indicating an excellent level of agreement between the experts' criteria. Finally, in the socialization of the program to the professionals, a score between partially and totally satisfied was obtained; reflecting an acceptance and possible application of the program in the practice of physiotherapy professionals.
