Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial en Procesos de Automatización, 2023-01) Chimborazo Constante, Bryan Fernando; Guachimbosa Villalba, Víctor HugoThe purpose of this research work is to improve the production process for the manufacture of industrial electrical resistors at Tesla Electricidad y Electrónica. First, an analysis and diagnosis of the current situation of the production area of the company was made in order to identify the conditions in which the productive operations are carried out, recognizing the problem present in the production area that is forged by the deficient organization and the generation of waste in the process, which cause the existence of unnecessary operations, transportation or movements that delay the productivity of the company. Thus, through a survey of information, the company's production processes were identified, to later determine the standard time of each one of them, together with the production capacity of the production line and the identification of the waste that negatively affects productivity in order to capture it in a VSM (Value Stream Mapping), as it is a diagnostic tool that allowed to show the situation and the current conditions of the production process. A proposal was made to improve the production process for the manufacture of industrial electrical resistors, through the application of improvement tools such as the 5S's method, SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Die) and Standardization to eliminate and/or reduce the waste identified in the process, while improving the processing time of these. In this way, the process cycle time was reduced from 96.9 minutes to 78.16 minutes, which represents an improvement of 19.33%, and this is reflected in an increase in production capacity from 297 resistors per month to 368 resistors per month, significantly benefiting the company.
