(2025-03-06) Pérez Llamuca, Pedro Steven; García Ramos, Diana Carolina; Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica
The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between family functioning and emotional intelligence in adolescents between 15 and 18 years of age in an educational institution. A non-experimental cross-sectional design with a quantitative approach was used in a sample of 173 students, who were evaluated by means of the FFSIL Family Functioning Test and the Baron Emotional Intelligence Inventory (I-CE). The results showed a moderate positive correlation (Rho = 0.524, p < 0.001) between family functioning and emotional intelligence, with adolescents with a more functional family environment presenting higher levels of emotional intelligence. In addition, statistically significant sex differences were identified, with males presenting higher emotional intelligence scores relative to females. The practical implications of these findings suggest the importance of fostering a healthy family environment to promote emotional wellbeing in adolescents.

(2025-03-05) López Cáceres, María José; Lara Salazar, Cristina Mariela; Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica
The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between family functioning and moral disengagement in adolescents. The FFSIL questionnaires and the Spanish version of the MDS scale were applied to 123 Ecuadorian adolescents aged 14 to 21 years. This was a quantitative, descriptive, correlational, non-experimental and cross-sectional study. The results showed no significant relationship between the central variables, although a low negative correlation was observed between the advantageous comparison mechanism and the cohesion dimension (Rho (121) = -0,253; p = 0,05). In addition, 56,9% of the participants presented moderate levels of family functioning, with a mean in moral disengagement of 56,1. Finally, no significant differences were found between the results of family functioning and moral disengagement when compared by male and female gender (U (1491) = 0.054, p > 0.05).

(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2023-03-01) Lara Moran, Lady Zulay; Gaibor Gonzalez, Ismael Álvaro Ps. Cl. Mst.
The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between family functionality (FF) and subjective well-being (SWB) in high school students; a sample of 121 students from an educational unit in the city of Pelileo-Ecuador between 14 and 19 years of age with an average of 15.5 years, 41.3% of whom were male and 58.7% female. A quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, correlational study was carried out. As a result, a positive correlation was found between family functionality and subjective wellbeing, with a predominance of moderately functional families and average subjective well-being in the sample. In conclusion, one of the determinants in the adequate development of subjective well-being is the family, since if adolescents are in a dysfunctional family this will be reflected in a low level of SWB.

The current Project was carried out to determined the relationship between social skills and family funcionality in adolescents from 3ro BGU. In the case of social skills, “the escala de habilidades sociales de Goldstein” was used and for family funcionality, the “cuestionario de funcionamiento familiar FF-SIL” was used in a population of 99 high school adolescents, 51 women and 48 men, residents of the urban sector of Guaranda. The used methodology was based on a quantitative, correlational and cross-sectional approach, since the information extracted through the test was compared using Spearman’s rho, to obtain the corresponding correlation, which showed a significated relationship between social skills and family funcionality with a statistical value of (Rho =0,239, p<0,05). In relation with social skills, a predominance of the low level was evidenced with 84.8% and family funcionality was shown to moderately functional level predominates with 67.7%. In addition, social skills and family funcionality showed no significant differences with sex.
