Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2022-09) Jaramillo Vaca, Elizabeth; Ureña Aguirre, Maritza ElizabethThe need for a place to live and the environmental crisis are current problems that must be controlled and mitigated in the construction sector, in the present research work a comparative structural and economic analysis of a roof projected with two structural materials was carried out. A widely used material, steel and a material that is gaining market in recent years for its great potential for reforestation and uses in construction such as bamboo. In the research, an analysis of the configuration and the optimal structural system for the roof was made, then a structural analysis was carried out using the static and linear dynamic methods complying with the regulatory controls of the Ecuadorian construction standard to guarantee a safe structure with a resistant earthquake behavior. Finally, the work was concluded with a comparison of the structural and economic response of the two roofs. This work seeks to provide a low-impact construction alternative with the environment and will serve for future engineers to mitigate the environmental problems we currently have.Item Influencia de la mampostería de relleno en el comportamiento de un pórtico de estructura metálica sometido a carga lateral(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2019) Castro Falcón, Christian Santiago; Medina Robalino, Christian DavidIn this project the behavior of a steel frame subjected to lateral forces was analyzed and a comparative table was established with the same frame but filled with masonry, the mathematical representation established by FEMA was used for the analysis of the structural behavior. The frame to be analyzed was established, modeling was carried out for the finite element program ETABS, after the analysis called "Pushover" was carried out in order to analyze its behavior under lateral forces, the rigidity of the frame was established, maximum lateral load, maximum deformation of the frame, element that absorbs the highest value of shear and mechanism of failure of the frame. 63 frames models were established with different masonry representations that caused a change in structural behavior when subjected to the same Pushover analysis. The results showed a marked difference between the analysis without masonry and the one that had a masonry representation, pathologies and structural behaviors not expected in the previous analysis were visualized, reason why this study concluded that in order to analyze with greater fidelity the behavior of structures it is indispensable the representation of the masonry or a reengineering of the constructive system.
