Item Optimización del abastecimiento de materias primas mediante la selección de proveedores con enfoque de sostenibilidad medio ambiental(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial.This research developed a supplier selection and evaluation model for raw materials in a concrete plant located in the province of Cotopaxi, with the aim of optimizing the supply process and reducing subjectivity in decision-making regarding the acquisition of cement, sand, gravel, admixtures, and water. The study emerged from the need to establish a technical procedure that enables the comprehensive evaluation of suppliers by considering economic, technical, logistical, and environmental criteria that influence operational continuity, final product quality, and the company’s competitiveness. For this purpose, the multicriteria method Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was applied through the construction of a hierarchical structure composed of criteria and subcriteria defined based on a literature review and expert validation, whose assessments were processed using Expert Choice software. The environmental criterion was incorporated to complement the traditional supplier selection process by considering aspects related to compliance with environmental requirements, responsible management of natural resources, and the reduction of impacts associated with the supply of raw materials. The results determined that the economic criterion has the highest influence on the selection process, with an approximate priority of 55 percent, followed by technical, logistical, and environmental criteria. In the evaluation of alternatives, Holcim Ecuador obtained the highest priority for cement supply with 38.23 percent, Cantera Illuchi for sand with 44.43 percent and gravel with 40.75 percent, ADITEC Ecuador for admixtures with 39.45 percent, and irrigation water for water supply with 50.95 percent. Finally, a procedure for supplier selection, evaluation, and monitoring was proposed, demonstrating that the AHP method is an effective tool for optimizing supply management under sustainability and competitiveness criteria.
