Item Diálisis en momentos de covid 19: afrontamiento de la enfermedad en cuarentena(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2022-10-13) Valls Rodríguez, Joel John; Cusme Torres, Nadihezka AmandaPatients with chronic kidney disease are part of a vulnerable group because their immune system is compromised, so this type of patient can more easily develop an associated disease. The aim of this study was to evaluate the coping of patients receiving dialysis during quarantine for COVID 19. Materials and methods: The research presents a quantitative, descriptive, cross- sectional and field approach. The study population consisted of 25 patients belonging to the dialysis ward of the Hospital General Ambato IESS, and was evaluated using the SF-36, EE-D and COPE-28 instruments. Results: Regarding the quality of life of these patients and their future health, 44% of the patients stated that their disease makes them prone to get sick easily, and in a pandemic they feared for their health, and 40% could not say whether they believed their health would improve or worsen because they felt it depended on the supply of medicines, their emotional state or the support of their relatives. Conclusions: it was found that the patient presented an emotional and psychological burden due to their illness added to a pandemic that made their treatment difficult, which presented a fear due to the lack of knowledge of being a new disease and the high contagiousness that it showedItem Actitud de la embarazada frente a los efectos adversos de la vacuna contra la covid-19(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2022-10-13) Rodríguez Zapata, Jessyca Daniela; Jiménez Peralta, Ana LuciaIntroduction: Attitudes are the reaction to a phenomenon; these can be positive or negative and depend on the individual. In the case of pregnant women, attitudes towards the adverse effects of the COVID-19 vaccine can be varied. Objective: To analysed the attitude of pregnant women towards the adverse effects of the COVID 19 vaccine. Methods: Qualitative, exploratory study with a phenomenological approach. The study population was pregnant women who had at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in the parish of Mulliquindil, Canton of Santa Ana, in the main area of Ecuador. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with thirteen participants, at which time the information was saturated. The data obtained were transcribed, analysed, and categorized based on the theory of Baez and Pérez. Results: Two categories emerged from the informants' discourse: negative attitudes such as fear, uncertainty, anguish, worry; and positive attitudes such as seeking information on the adverse effects of the vaccine to comply with the indicated scheme. Conclusions: The main attitudes taken by pregnant women regarding the adverse effects of the vaccine against COVID-19, were influenced by the excess of information and unreliable sources that produce a misinterpretation leading to fear, uncertainty even to the abandonment of the vaccination scheme. Likewise, not much importance is given to immunization against COVID-19.Item Afrontamiento del covid-19 en el personal auxiliar de enfermería(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2022-10-12) Ramírez Maiquiza, Doménica Yadira; López Pérez, Grace PamelaIntroduction: The global crisis due to COVID-19, has produced changes in health institutions, affecting the mental health of health personnel, so it has been necessary to implement coping strategies to adapt to the situation. Objective: To identify COVID-19 coping in auxiliary nursing staff. Methodology: This is quantitative research of non experimental design, cross-sectional, with a descriptive scope. The study population was 100 nursing assistants of the Hospital General Docente Ambato. The information was collected through a survey with 21 closed questions, divided into 3 dimensions: adaptation or assimilation, adequate management of emotions and social limitations. Results: The coping strategies used were problem solving with 55%, worry solving with 47.5% and resistance to difficulties with 56%; the nursing assistants presented a medium level of coping with a percentage of 41%. Conclusions: COVID-19 coping has been progressively improving, healthcare professionals have changed their way of thinking and acting in the face of illness, allowing their work development, for such reason, it is essential that coping strategies continue to be applied and encouraged among workers, in order to maintain their health both physically and psychologicallyItem Afrontamiento del covid-19 y sus efectos en el desempeño de las funciones del personal de seguridad(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2022-10-12) López Barona, Lizeth Mishell; Benavides Rovalino, Esther del RocíoIntroduction: COVID-19 has generated diseases that have especially affected the respiratory system of mankind and even led to death, it has also generated mental imbalances, psychological disorders in security personnel, creating confusion, fears, due to changes in routines. Objective: To analyse COVID-19 coping and its effects on the performance of the functions of security personnel. Methodology: This research is quantitative, field-based, descriptive and cross-sectional. It was carried out by means of a census sample in which the population consisted of personnel working in the Tungurahua Police Sub-zone No. 18, with a Community Police Unit (UPC) of 50 active duty personnel designated for the study. Information was collected by means of a questionnaire, which contains 9 scales that have been validated with Cronbach's Alpha. Results: Compliance with preventive measures to avoid contagion of the coronavirus is shown. 92% use the mask when leaving home and 64% keep their distance from other people, and 44% have felt very anxious or afraid, very sad or depressed during the pandemic. Conclusions: The coping with COVID-19 in security personnel has improved significantly, allowing them to carry out their work functions in a normal way, therefore it is essential to continue promoting strategies in the servers to maintain a state of physical and mental health in good condition.Item Análisis del afrontamiento del personal de limpieza en hospitales públicos durante la pandemia por covid-19(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2022-10-12) Guamanquispe Aldás, Erika Vanessa; Moyano Calero, WillianThe COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to generating physical conditions and consequences in the population, caused psychosocial disorders, for which people developed levels of coping with stress, causing difficulties in the cognitive and behavioral capacity of those affected, being a of the most affected populations the cleaning staff who worked in health institutions. The purpose of the study was to know the coping with stress in the cleaning and cleaning staff of the Ambato General Teaching Hospital during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. This is an observational, descriptive cross-sectional cohort study, with random probabilistic sampling, the Perceived Stress Scale-10 adapted to COVID-19 (EPP-10-C) was used. The main results show that, for the most part, the cleaning staff presented a moderate level of coping with stress during the COVID-19 pandemic, however, many also registered a mild level of coping. Finally, it was observed that the cleaning staff has developed different levels of coping, which allowed reducing the impact on mental health.Item Efectos percibidos por el personal de salud luego de cumplir el esquema de vacunación contra el covid-19(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2022-10-12) Pullupaxi Unaucho, Mayra Lisseth; Cusme Torres, Nadihezka AmandaObjective: Know the effects perceived by health personnel after completing the vaccination schedule against COVID-19. Methodology: quantitative study, non experimental descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach, a sample of 40 participants was obtained, a sample of 40 participants was obtained, who corresponded to the health personnel of the Salcedo Type B Health Center, the questionnaire was applied as an instrument, which consisted of 16 questions formulated according to the variables of the investigation. Results: Most of the health personnel were female (67.5%),between 20 and 30 years old (40%); the majority had another occupation (40%), doctors(22.5%), nurses (12.5%); marital status married (52.5%). The vaccines with which they met the schedule, for the most part, were with Pfizer-BioNTech and AstraZeneca-Oxford,and in the minority with Sinovac/CoronaVac. Positive impact on health (82.5%). Good experience with the COVID-19 vaccination schedule (65%). Perceived effects: headaches (some 32.5%); joint pain (a lot 15%), muscle pain (a little 25%), tiredness (a little 22.5%), hours of sleep affected (some 17.5%); general discomfort (some 30%), rash (none 97.5%); urticaria (none 92.5%). They did not present other symptoms (85%). Conclusions: in compliance with the vaccination schedule against COVID-19, Pfizer, and AstraZeneca were the predominant vaccines, the health personnel had a good experience, and the perceived effects were: headaches, joint pain, muscle pain, tiredness, affected sleep hours, and general malaise; Regarding other symptoms, the following were reported: fever, sore throat, swollen glands, pain in the injected arm, and bone pain.Item Comportamiento alimentario en estudiantes de la carrera de enfermería de la Universidad Técnica de Ambato durante el confinamiento por la pandemia COVID-19(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2022-03-01) Velastegui Bonilla, Ibeth Magdalena; Velasco Acurio, Evelin Fernanda Lic. Mg.Eating behaviors are habits or customs that students adopt throughout their training, which may vary. Objective: To evaluate the eating behavior in students of the Nursing Career during the confinement due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. For which was performed an observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study, with a sample of 215 students, to whom a questionnaire was applied about eating behavior that is validated, evaluating the selection, preparation, food intake schedules, food intake preferences, beliefs, and barriers to change. 36.6% of students choose their food based on taste, 51.6% like meats and seafood, 7.9% dislike nuts. 50.2% eat with someone else, 46.0% have breakfast from 9 to 10 am on weekends, 47.9% eat lunch from 14 to 15 hours and finally 45.9% snack from 19 to 20 on Monday Friday, 65.6% consume prepared food, 39.1% consume fried, 75.8% drink soft drinks. As for eating out, 38.1% and 37.2% eat excessively 43.3% have disinterest in nutrition labels, so 57.7% do not avoid food and finally 42.8% of students lack commitment to improve their diet and 0.5% are not interested. Conclusion: Inappropriate eating behavior, they prefer foods for their taste or for their visual appeal to their nutritional value because they are disinterested in nutrition labels, relegating fruits and vegetablesItem Experiencias vividas de los familiares con pacientes que estuvieron hospitalizados con covid-19(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2022-03-01) Sánchez Guevara, Belén Estefanía; Herrera López, José Luis Lic. Mg.Experience is the set of knowledge acquired after an event, in an objective reality from the point of view of each individual. The objective of this research was to analyze the lived experiences of the relatives of hospitalized patients diagnosed with COVID-19. The investigation presents a qualitative approach, exploratory in scope, entirely field-based with the relatives of patients hospitalized for COVID-19 in the period March 2020- November 2021. Non-probabilistic purposive sampling was employed, the instrument of which was an individualized interview with a duration of approximately 30 to 45 minutes, in addition, purposive sampling was applied until the information saturation was reached, for the analysis of the data a graph was elaborated to represent the participants' answers according to the categories that were previously established by the authors, based on the deductive method and hermeneutical phenomenology. In conclusion, negative experiences were presented in the personal, psychological, family, social, economic, and communicational areas, as a result of the ignorance of health personnel and families regarding the treatment of a new disease worldwide, evidencing the insufficient medical and therapeutic approach faced with these types of situations and catastrophes.Item Factores socioculturales relacionados al cumplimiento de los esquemas de vacunación en menores de 2 años durante el confinamiento(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2022-03-01) Quirola Gavilánez, Johanna Carolina; Lic. Mg. Herrera López José LuisIntroduction: Failure to comply with vaccination schedules significantly affects the health and healthy and normal development of boys and girls. There are several factors, especially sociocultural, that may influence non-compliance with vaccination schedules. This in turn has been further aggravated due to the presence of the Covid-19 pandemic. Objective: To identify the socio-cultural factors related to compliance with the vaccination scheme in children under 2 years of age in a sample of mothers and fathers from Ecuador. Methodology: The methodology used for the analysis of the study comprises a descriptive, quantitative, comparative, cross-sectional design, the study time is between March 2020 and August 2021. Participants: Parents of 208 children under 2 years of age with Overdue schemes that are treated at the Health Center No. 1 in the city of Ambato. Results: The main factors associated with non-compliance with vaccination schedules include the socio-economic situation of the parents, the age of the parents, mobility and transportation, and access to vaccines. Also, the presence of covid-19 and social health measures have affected the difficulty of adherence to vaccination schedules. Conclusions: The current limitations in the vaccination adherence schemes strongly affect compliance with the vaccination programs and must be taken into account for the respective corrections in the public health policies.Item Creencias y mitos sobre los tratamientos alternativos para prevenir la covid-19(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2022-03-01) Ganán Barrionuevo, Andrea Maribel; Benavides Rovalino, Esther del Rocio Lic. MgIntroduction: COVID-19; It was detected for the first time in December 2019 in the city of Wuhan China, its spread was rapid, which led the World Health Organization to declare a global pandemic (1). In the midst of panic and the health crisis, many home remedies spread in Latin America to deal with the disease (2). This is how information has been shown from people looking for alternative remedies to prevent the coronavirus or to treat it, also being the case of Ecuador (3). Objective: Identify treatments with natural medicine or alternative products as a measure of prevention and / or cure of COVID-19 in the population during the pandemic. Material and Methods: Research; it is based on a qualitative, descriptive and cross-sectional measurement approach; The sample is made up of 100 people, several of them who have presented the disease and others not, both from rural and urban areas living in the Province of Tungurahua, Cantón Píllaro, Barrio San Jacinto. The data were collected by means of a face-to-face application of a self-authored survey, they were processed in the SPSS version 25 program, to finally be analyzed using tables. Results: 58% are female; Between the age range of 18 to 40 years, 56% reside in rural areas and 88% of the total have used some type of alternative treatment; while 78% use natural medicine to treat mild symptoms. 76% of those surveyed presented improvement in their health status, 54% have used or consumed products such as ethanol and ivermectin and 6% of the total sample presented side effects after the use of these products. Conclusions A high percentage of the population; resorted to the use of natural medicine and products as viable options for the prevention and treatment of the disease, it is therefore important; research on alternative treatments for the management of COVID-19.
