    Educación virtual y retos a los que se enfrentan los/as internos rotativos/as

    Introduction: Due to the SARS-Cov-2 pandemic, higher education institutions had to implement alternatives to continue with the teaching-learning process. Nursing students at the Technical University of Ambato had to adapt to new challenges in their training. Objective: To identify the challenges faced by the Nursing Rotational Interns as a consequence of virtual education. Methodology: Cross-sectional qualitative approach, with phenomenological design, applying a semi structured interview. Results: 80% of the Nursing Rotational Interns interviewed mentioned facing fear when approaching the patient and that the virtual modality did not allow them to develop the necessary skills and abilities to carry out a professional practice. Final consideration: The lack of practice within the hospital environment and clinical simulation laboratories affects professional training and is reflected in the fear of performing the necessary procedures in direct patient care.
