Item ESTRATEGIAS PARA EVITAR EL CONSUMO EXCESIVO DE GRASAS TRANS EN LA POBLACIÓN ECUATORIANA(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2024-05-29) Quispe Pérez, Jonathan Alexis; Arráiz-de-Fernández, CarolinaObjective: The objective of this study is to create strategies to avoid excessive consumption of trans fats in the Ecuadorian population. Methodology: A documentary and descriptive study was carried out which consisted of collecting information from scientific articles related to strategies to reduce the consumption of trans fats through extensive reading. A total of 90 articles were identified from different databases, which were filtered using inclusion criteria that covered original and review articles published in English or Spanish in the period from 2018 to 2023, excluding letters to the editor, case studies, repositories and articles. incomplete. Results: Excess consumption of trans fats represents a public health concern. To address this problem, various strategies are proposed, such as avoiding processed foods with trans fats, promoting nutritional education, differentiating between types of saturated fats, and educating people about the risks associated with these fats. These measures are essential to prevent diseases and promote healthier eating at the population level. Conclusions: Nursing staff play a vital role in educating patients about the risks of trans fats and promoting a healthy diet. They conduct nutritional assessments, collaborate with specialists, encourage fresh food choices, provide emotional support, and stay up-to-date. Its interdisciplinary and community approach is essential to prevent its consumption and promote health.
