    Las técnicas artesanales y el turismo rural en el cantón Otavalo; caso de estudio: El rol de la mujer otavaleña

    The main objective of this research is to analyze the relationship between handicraft techniques and rural tourism in the Otavalo canton, to make visible the role of Otavalo women. The methodology used was qualitative, with a transversal non-experimental design and a research scope. The instruments used were the INPC's A5 cards of traditional handicraft techniques and a questionnaire of ten open-ended questions. The results obtained show that Otavalo women have been the main preservers of the traditional handicraft techniques used in the handicrafts that are most characteristic of the Otavalo canton. These Otavaleña women are the main guardians of ancestral knowledge, transmitted orally and from generation to generation, which ensures the continuity of these crafts of great cultural value. The interviews were conducted with tourism experts from Otavalo GAD to gather information on the characteristics of the dimensions of rural tourism in the canton. It was concluded that the central role of Otavalo women in the preservation of handicraft techniques and the cultural and natural wealth of the canton has been one of the main reasons for tourists to visit. Despite the disorganized tourism planning, Otavaleña women are key to keeping the culture and traditions alive.

    La memoria oral y el turismo rural caso de estudio: Terremoto del 5 de agosto de 1949 en la parroquia Santa Rosa, cantón Ambato

    Santa Rosa, located in the central zone of Ecuador, south of Ambato, is one of the most important parishes of the canton for being one of the most productive in the agricultural area. It is made up of a mestizo and indigenous population, including children, adults and the elderly, the latter being the most important for the research, by preserving the memory of an event classified as catastrophic, which hit several areas of the province of Tungurahua in 1949 and that today is little remembered. For this reason, this titling project had the purpose of exploring the oral memory and rural tourism with emphasis on the case of the earthquake of August 5, 1949, in the parish of Santa Rosa, canton Ambato, a date that has marked the hearts and lives of many people and families in urban and rural areas. Santa Rosa, being one of the most important for the productive and agricultural sector of Ambato, has natural and cultural potential for the development of rural tourism. To develop the research, a qualitative approach was used, using interviews with older adults who witnessed and heard the earthquake and with tourism technicians in the canton. As a result, important information was obtained to articulate the oral memory together with rural tourism, through a proposal for a memory room where images and narrative fragments are exhibited in the interviews to preserve and enrich the memory through tourism.

    Tendencia del turismo interno hacia el turismo rural en el cantón Mejía

    La presente investigación hace referencia a la tendencia del turismo interno hacia el turismo rural a raíz de la pandemia por el Covid-19. En la metodología se utilizó la investigación no experimental y alcance descriptivo con un enfoque mixto debido a que combina el enfoque cualitativo y cuantitativo de esta manera, se tuvo una mejor perspectiva en el análisis de los datos de la investigación. Para la recolección de datos se empleó una encuesta dirigida a los visitantes del cantón Mejía para distinguir sus preferencias y una entrevista aplicada a los prestadores de servicios turísticos para conocer su punto de vista acerca de la actividad turística. Los resultados de la investigación reflejaron que, efectivamente existe una tendencia al turismo rural que resulta beneficioso para los habitantes del sector. Por otro lado, una vez identificado las inclinaciones de los visitantes se plantearon actividades que son sugeridas a los dueños de establecimientos turísticos con el fin de contribuir al desarrollo turístico, de esta manera se potenciará el turismo ecuestre, la visita a áreas protegidas y haciendas que son de las actividades favoritas de los visitantes del lugar

    La agricultura y el turismo rural: como turismo vivencial en el cantón Cevallos

    El presente trabajo de investigación se centra en analizar si la agricultura y el turismo rural que existe en el caso de estudio como lo es el cantón Cevallos aporta de manera dinámica a crear una vivencia a través de la interrelación entre los recursos naturales como son las granjas y huertos frutales conjuntamente con los turistas o visitantes que llegan a la zona, considerando que su principal problemática ha sido la pérdida del valor turístico dentro de las zonas agroturísticas del cantón Cevallos y el no aprovechamiento del turismo vivencial. Por ello ha visto pertinente utilizar un diseño de investigación no experimental de tipo transeccional con un enfoque mixto, puesto que se ha utilizado instrumentos de evaluación como son las encuestas orientadas a un total de 189 encuestados con un rango de edad de entre los 18 a 60 años, buscando así conocer la tendencia y necesidades del turista al momento de realizar actividades agroturísticas en el cantón y a su vez las entrevistas ligadas a 6 propietarios de establecimientos agroturísticos, lo cual contribuye a interpretar las diversas problemáticas que atraviesan los propietarios, teniendo en cuenta que una vez que se analizó los datos obtenidos y las hipótesis planteadas se procedió a adoptar la hipótesis alterna propuesta para la investigación, la cual asegura que la agricultura y el turismo rural si contribuyen directamente al fortalecimiento del turismo vivencial en el Cantón Cevallos, ante esto se propone la creación de una ruta agroturística dentro de los seis establecimientos investigados y a su vez aprovechando los elementos que lo conforman para que el dinamismo y la vivencia sean características claves.
