There are three main methods for teaching: synthetic, analytical and mixed methods, it is very important that teachers have knowledge about the application of each method; so they will know clearly which method is the most appropriate. Literary skill is the main point for future learning, so it is necessary to use innovative methodologies that let us to be successful in the teaching-learning process. The purpose of this researching work is to analyze the methods for teaching literary skills in the students of the Second Grade of Basic Education of the "Pedro Carbo Noboa" School. The methodology applied was descriptive correlational with a qualitative-quantitative approach because we describe the acquired knowledge in literary skills and statistical methods were applied to obtain results, the population is composed of 34 students and 3 teachers. In this investigative process, the survey technique aimed at teachers and the Magellan Scale TALE 2021 technical sheet applied to students were used, which served as instruments for collecting information on the study variables. The results obtained from statistical data show that students have difficulties in omission, substitution, addition and rotation in reading; while in writing errors of omission, word union and segmentation were identified.
