Item Estimulación Basal en problemas de equilibrio en los adultos mayores(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Centro de posgrados, 2021-07-01) Pozo Martínez, Fátima Sofía Lcda; Cedeño Zamora, María Narciza Lcda. Mg.Part of the life cycle is the physical and mental ageing of the human body that is related to the deterioration of walking and balance, presenting a high rate of falls in older adults. The presented research is a descriptive investigation which uses a quantitative approach of a quasi-experimental type and cross-sectional section. It was developed in the Gerontological Day Center "El Buen Samaritano", City of Mera, province of Pastaza. The purpose of the research was the application of Basal Stimulation on balance problems in older adults, an attempt was made to reduce medical visits as a result of falls that cause fractures, chronic ailments, psychological and family problems and even social isolation; considering that this population was part of an active group in its productive age, it is necessary to contribute to the physical, mental, familiar and social health of this ethereal group. At the beginning of the research when analyzing the basal stimulation in balance problems in older adults, it was identified that in the whole population assessed only two older adults were independent in static and dynamic balance and the remaining 80% could walk with help, having between moderate and high risk of falls, otherwise, at the end of the investigation significant results were obtained, in first place the older adults improved their balance and went from a level of being able to walk with help to being independent in static and dynamic balance and in second place reducing the risk of falls to a low level, improving their lifestyle.Item Efectividad de los Ejercicios de Frenkel en Adultos Mayores para Mejorar el Equilibrio(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Centro de posgrados, 2021-07-01) Montero Guizado, Jazmín Micaela Lcda.; Cedeño Zamora, María Narciza Lcda. Mg.In the present research work, a quantitative approach of a prospective type of quasiexperimental intervention was accomplished; in a population of 30 older adults from 65 years old to 75 years old belonging to the Golden Years Club of the Geriatric Hospital Doctor Bolívar Arguello P. of Riobamba city in which there were evaluations before and after the intervention; where a series of Frenkel exercises was developed. The statistical information and data collected were analyzed in IBM's SPSS-V21 statistical program, a small survey was used to identify the sociodemographic variables (age, sex and occupation) and then the state of balance of each participant was evaluated by means of the Tinetti test consisting of two scales (balance and progress); the same one that gives us as a result whether or not there is a risk of falling; evidencing notably alterations in balance and progress, based on these problems a treatment plan was structured through a series of Frenkel exercises in supine decubitus, sitting and standing that were applied to the participants of this study, after the assessment it was evaluated again to know if the current state of equilibrium improved in this population. When applying the Frenkel exercises it was evidenced that it was great utility and through this series of exercises the balance could be improved in an important percentage, to verify the effectiveness of the technique the Wilcoxon Test was applied as it was numerical categorical variables which result was that the level of significance corresponds to 0 and this means that the null hypothesis is rejected, verifying that the series of Frenkel exercises that were carried out in this investigation were effective for each older adult who participated in it.Item Estimulación basal en las alteraciones de equilibrio y marcha en adultos mayores(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Centro de posgrados, 2021-07-01) Carrasco Cajo, Jesenia Elizabeth; Lata, María Augusta Lcda. Ft. Mg.This research is carried out with the objective of finding what the effects of basal stimulation are in older adults in gait and balance problems. It is quasi-experimental, the population was 26 older adults, the average age was 75 years among men and women. A somatic, visual and vestibular stimulation protocol was designed, this was applied three sessions per week with a duration of 20 minutes, for a total of 36 interventions. The initial and final evaluation was carried out with the Tinetti scale, the results generated show that basal stimulation is a helpful method for balance and gait problems and for the reduction of risk of falls in older adults.
