This process is driven by a combination of genetic and environmental factors and manifests at various levels, including cellular, structural, functional, and psychological. From the age of 60 onward, these changes become more noticeable, directly affecting the quality of life of older adults. Currently, more than 7% of the global population is over 65 years old, and in developed countries, this proportion can reach up to 15%. The growing number of elderly individuals leads to higher demand for medical services, mostly related to chronic illnesses and non-fatal injuries, resulting in increased healthcare costs and presenting significant challenges for public policies aimed at their care and wellbeing Objective: To determine the effects of a training program on dynamic balance through entertainment platforms in older adults. Method: The present study is a prospective longitudinal cohort analytical study under a quantitative approach, since the level of dynamic balance presented by older adults will be initially evaluated through the Tinetti test, functional reach test, and Timed Up and Go test, in order to develop the proposed training plan in the older adults of Guaytacama. Then, the effects of the plan will be evaluated to identify clinically and statistically the changes in the level of dynamic balance of the older adults. Results: A training plan was structured in four stages. First, intervention protocols were approved and the selection of participants was approved by inclusion and exclusion criteria. Second, dynamic balance evaluations were carried out by means of scales and tests. Third; with the results of the tests and literature, the training plan was structured. Fourth; the plan was applied for a duration of four weeks with a frequency of application of three times per week with a duration of 20 - 25 minutes. Conclusion: The results obtained through the application of the training plan are favorable for older adults in the reeducation of dynamic balance, because they perform better in daily life activities.Item type:Ítem, Optimización de la Función de Miembros Superiores a través de Programas de entrenamiento con Herramientas Tecnológicas en la población Adulta Mayor(2025-09-23) ;Toapanta Guatatoca, Katerin Alexandra ;Arias Córdova, Paúl AdriánUniversidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Centro de PosgradosThe function of the upper limbs is an important element in the independence of older adults. It represents a significant cause of decreased physical performance and quality of life. Early diagnosis can reduce the functional impact and costs associated with its treatment. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the type of gait and its relationship with podoscopy and physical examination of the foot in military personnel with plantar fasciitis. This study conducted a correlational study of 40 military personnel with foot pain treated at the Agrucomge Type "B" Health Center at the Rumiñahui Military Fort in Quito, Pichincha province, from June to August 2024. These patients were selected using non-probability convenience sampling and applied inclusion and exclusion criteria. A gait type assessment was performed to categorize military personnel based on the Helbing Line and compare it with the foot type presented by military personnel based on the physical examination with the height of the scaphoid bone and the plantar arch index (PAI). The results revealed a high frequency of flat feet and pronated gait in military personnel, followed by normal feet with pronated gait, with no association between gait type and foot type in plantar fasciitis (p=>0.05). The conclusion is that plantar fasciitis is a multifactorial pathology. The physical examination could be complemented with podoscopy to detect structural and biomechanical foot abnormalities that would aid clinical evaluation, especially in military personnel.Item type:Ítem, Plan de tratamiento de ejercicios hipopresivos en pacientes con escoliosis.(2025-09-23) ;Chávez Campana, Jessica Nataly ;Tello Moreno, Mónica CristinaUniversidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Centro de PosgradosScoliosis refers to a complex deformity of the spine in three planes. It is diagnosed by measuring the angle of curvature of the vertebral column (a Cobb angle of at least 10°) in the frontal plane and the axial rotation in the horizontal plane, in addition to being characterized by spinal deformities in the sagittal plane, which is why the hypopressive exercise that produces direct activation of the transversus abdominis muscle, which strengthens the abdominal girdle and stabilizes the spine. It provides benefits such as strengthening the abdominal muscles, making the lumbar spine more flexible and rearranging body posture. For this reason, the study set the objective of determining the effect of a treatment plan of hypopressive exercises for patients with scoliosis. The methodology, a quantitative approach, descriptive and longitudinal intervention, was applied. The program lasted 12 weeks with an initial and final evaluation. The population was made up of 30 patients between 18 and 45 years old. In addition, the Cobb Test was used, it was shown with a p value of 0.001 <0.05, the null hypothesis was rejected in favor of the alternative and it was concluded that the quality of life of patients with scoliosis at the IEES San Miguel de Bolívar Health Center improved. . In the final assessment, there was improvement in the classification scale, 50% of patients had moderate scoliosis and 50% had mild scoliosis, showing an improvement in the Cobb angle. This is a joint with greater mobility in the human body, which is why it is one of the most affected throughout life. (1) The incidence of both tendon and joint injuries increases with age, as soft tissues experience progressive weakening and degeneration. However, repeated microtraumas or overuse related to professional or sports activities are also common causes of soft tissue injuries, regardless of the patient's age. Resistance training with blood flow restriction emerges as an alternative to high-intensity training. The American College of Sports Medicine establishes that the appropriate training intensity to increase maximum strength or muscle size should exceed 70% with 1 maximum repetition. (2) While the BFR establishes that low intensity training with 20-50% with a maximum repetition can increase strength and muscle size. (3) Objective: To determine the effect of the resistance training program with blood flow restriction to enhance muscle development in people with shoulder pain. Methods: This project has a quantitative approach since the statistical part will be managed through the SPSS platform version 29.0, application level, longitudinal and prospective, with a population of 35 young adults with shoulder pain to whom resistance training with blood flow restriction will be applied. Expected results: The aim is to determine the effect of the resistance training program with blood flow restriction to enhance muscle development in people with shoulder pain.Item type:Ítem, Programa de Calistenia para mejorar el rendimiento físico en natación en los aspirantes de Escuela Militar(2025-03-13) ;Proaño Sánchez, Paola Valeria ;Álvaro Erazo, Alex PatricioUniversidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Centro de PosgradosIntroduction: Calisthenics consists of a specific form of exercise that adopts artificial postures through specific movements to produce specific and well-defined hygienic and educational effects.
