Item Recapturación del disco articular en el dolor miofascial en disfunción temporomandibular(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Centro de Posgrados, 2023-06-28) Sisalima Tapia, Mónica Alexandra; Córdova Velasco, Luis ErnestoTemporomandibular dysfunctions are disorders that encompass a set of signs and symptoms, among the main ones we have myofascial pain, decreased mouth opening, cervicalgia, dizziness, tinnitus, muscle fatigue, among others. Manual therapy as a conservative treatment of physiotherapy focuses on pain relief and improvement of its functionality, similar studies show its effectiveness. The aim of this study is to identify whether joint disc recapture improves myofascial pain in patients with temporomandibular dysfunctions. A cross-sectional quantitative methodology was used, the sample was of 15 adults in an age range of 20-40 years diagnosed with temporomandibular dysfunction disorders of disc origin of the Health Center type "B" of the Patronato del Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado Provincial de Chimborazo (Chimborazo Autonomous Decentralized Provincial Government). The theoretical statistical method used is the T-test or Student's t-test, the processing of the information to obtain data will be carried out with the SPSS computer system, version 22 for Windows in Spanish. The results obtained after the study reflect that after the intervention, the intensity of pain measured with the analogical pain scale VAS decreased, as our confidence level is p=.000 the difference is statistically significant p<0.05, the severity of the temporomandibular dysfunction measured with the Helkimo index decreased, our confidence level is p=.000 so the difference is statistically significant (p<0.05), as well as people who present anteromedial displacement of the articular disc obtaining the confidence level p=.000 we can say that it is statistically significant (p<0.05). Thus, we conclude that joint disc recapture improves myofascial pain in patients with temporomandibular dysfunctions, through the application of orthopedic manual therapy techniques, a significant statistic is evidenced.
