    Evaluación de la actividad insecticida del aceite esencial de molle (Schinus molle L.) fase de campo, frente al gusano blanco (Premnotrypes vorax Hustache) de la papa en la variedad Santa Rosa

    The research was carried in Querochaca Experimental Farm, Agricultural Sciences Faculty, Ambato Technical University, located in the Cevallos canton, Tungurahua province, whose geographical coordinates are: 1º 22 "02" of South latitude and 78º 36'22 "west longitude, with an altitude of 2 850 meters above sea level, with the purpose: evaluating three doses of 1essential oil 2molle (Schinus molle L.) (5%, 10% and 15% dilution) , for the control the white (Premnotrypes vorax Hustache) potato worm, Santa Rosa variety. The treatments were four, three that received application of essential oil and a witness. The completely randomized block design was used, with six repetitions. The variance analysis (ANOVA), Tukey tests at 5% and orthogonal polynomials with calculation of regression and correlation were performed. The economic analysis was carried out using the cost benefit ratio methodology. The results showed that: the application of essential oil of molle in a dose of 15% dilution (D3), produced the best results, reaching the lowest percentage of incidence of white worm (30,07%), as the lowest percentage of severity of white worm (17,07%), for which the plants reported a greater diameter of the tuber (4,88 cm) and the highest yields (5,35 kg/treatment); being the appropriate treatment to better control the attack of white potato worm, contributing to obtain higher rates of production and productivity of the crop, without affecting the environment. From an economic analysis it is concluded that the treatment that was applied essential oil molle in a dose of 15% dilution (D3), reached the highest cost benefit ratio of 0,42, where the net benefits obtained were 0,42 times what invested, being from the economic point of view the most profitable treatment.
