Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2022-09) Herrera Narváez, Erick Santiago; Silva Tipantasig, Lenin GabrielThis experimental work is based on the evaluation of the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) of the Mochapata community, to determine if the treated water that is discharged into the Mocha River complies with the TULSMA 2015 standard. For this, it began with a survey of information, such as: location, socioeconomic activities of the population and a diagnosis of the treatment units; a field investigation was carried out, where the measurement of the influent and effluent flows was carried out, also a sampling of the residual water inlet and outlet of the WWTP for its subsequent laboratory analysis of its physical and chemical properties. Once the analysis has been carried out, the results obtained are compared with the discharge limits to freshwater, established by the TULSMA standard, where it was determined that six of the ten parameters analyzed do not comply with the regulations, including: oils and fats, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5), chemical oxygen demand (COD), suspended solids, surfactants, and fecal coliforms. For this reason, it is necessary to look for an alternative to comply with the limits mentioned. The current treatment train was evaluated and, since it did not obtain an acceptable efficiency in the removal of contaminants, it was necessary to propose a new treatment train that guarantees the removal of contaminants below the permissible limits, it is composed of screens, grease trap, septic tank, trickling filter, sludge drying bed and artificial wetland.
