Abstract
This project is being carried out in Ambato city, parish of Santa Rosa, starting with two three-story architectural models, for which structural calculations are performed using the two most commonly used structural systems in the field: reinforced concrete and structural steel, in both cases using special moment frames. The comparison made on the same architectural model shows the amount of material used when choosing a structural system, as well as the cost of each one.
The result was a similarity in the percentage variation, since for the architectural model analyzed, in both cases the concrete has a cost close to thirty-two percent of the value of the structural steel construction.
Description
El presente proyecto se lo realiza en la cuidad de Ambato, parroquia de Santa Rosa,
partiendo como primer punto de dos modelos arquitectónico de tres plantas, de los cuales
se realiza el cálculo estructural aplicando los dos sistemas estructurales más utilizados en
el medio como es el uso de hormigón armado y el segundo en acero estructural, en ambos
casos usando pórticos especiales a momento. La comparación realizada en un mismo
modelo arquitectónico permite evidenciar la cantidad de material que se usa al escoger
un sistema estructural, así como el costo que tiene cada uno de ellos.
