Abstract
Urinary tract infections are among the main infections that cause
medical consultations at the primary care and hospital level, with women being
the most affected and the population vulnerable to this type of infection, but UTIs
can affect any age and gender. Nowadays, due to UTIs and antimicrobial
resistance, it impairs the choice of treatment for this condition and adds amounts
of expenses at the public health level, being a main concern for medical entities.
Therefore, Objective: the present investigation is carried out with the objective
of determining the prevalence of antimicrobial resistant bacteria in urinary tract
infection and their pattern of susceptibility to antimicrobials, due to their high
prevalence, the risk of recurrence and inadequate empirical treatment.
Methods:It was carried out with the bibliographic article modality, where
documentary research was used through a search of the literature in the PubMed,
Web of Science, Scopus, Scielo, Google Scholar databases, from all the articles
those that provided the information were selected. information necessary to fulfill
the objective of the investigation. Conclusions: The results show that: the
highest frequency of resistance for E. coli was observed for cephalothin (75.8%),
ampicillin (72.6%) and trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole (55.3%). Concluding that
according to the data collected in the bibliographic search in relation to the
various bacteria resistant to antimicrobials in urinary tract infection, it can be
concluded that E. coli is one of the main bacteria in UTIs, and in addition to this,
this bacterium can be resistant to antibiotics such as: ampicillin, quinolines and
trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole.
Description
a cualquier edad y género.
ampicilina, quinolinas y trimetoprim-sulfametoxazol.
