dc.descriptionConstructivism holds that people construct their own knowledge and understanding of the world through experiences and reflections. The objective of this research is to determine the relationship between constructivism and the teaching-learning process in the area of Natural Sciences in the students of the Secondary Basic Sublevel at the "Bautista" Educational Unit, in the city of Ambato. The methodology corresponds to the mixed approach, descriptive and relational level, bibliographic and field modality, observational design, structured surveys and interviews related to the two variables were designed, reviewed by experts to guarantee validity; permission was obtained and teachers and students were informed about the research. The main results show that 56.3% of the students show a high interest in the subject, 42.2% apply what they have learned immediately, 55% prefer different teaching methods, and 87.5% indicate that the teacher uses didactic materials frequently. The conclusions of this study are: the teaching-learning process, the application of constructivism is still limited and Natural Sciences is a little preferred area due to the scarce use of practical and authentic situations.es_ES
dc.description.abstractEl constructivismo sostiene que las personas construyen su propio conocimiento y comprensión del mundo a través de experiencias y reflexiones. El objetivo de la presente investigación es determinar la relación del constructivismo con el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje en el área de Ciencias Naturales en los estudiantes del Subnivel Básica Media en la Unidad Educativa “Bautista”, de la ciudad de Ambato. La metodología corresponde al enfoque mixto, nivel descriptivo y relacional, modalidad bibliográfica y de campo, diseño observacional, se diseñaron encuestas estructuradas y entrevistas relacionadas con las dos variables, revisadas por expertos para garantizar la validez; se obtuvo permiso y se informó a profesores y estudiantes sobre la investigación. Los principales resultados muestran que un 56.3% de los estudiantes muestra un alto interés en la materia, el 42.2% aplica lo aprendido de inmediato, el 55% prefiere diversos métodos de enseñanza, y el 87.5% indica que el docente usa materiales didácticos frecuentemente. Las conclusiones de este estudio son: el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje la aplicación del constructivismo todavía es limitada y las Ciencias Naturales es un área poco preferida por el escaso uso de situaciones prácticas y auténticas.es_ES
