Abstract
This study evaluated the ergonomic risk in the craniocervical posture of dentists, since clinical practice involves maintaining certain postures, repetitive movements, and high visual demands, all of which predispose them to musculoskeletal disorders. The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between ergonomic risk and craniocervical posture in dentists. An observational, correlational, and cross-sectional study was conducted with a total of 30 participants from different dental specialties to evaluate craniocervical posture using the Physio Master application, which recorded photographs of different angles such as sagittal head tilt and craniocervical tilt in both the right and left sagittal planes. Ergonomic risk was evaluated using the RULA method, which showed the level of ergonomic risk for each participant. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Spearman's correlation, showing a significance level of p<0.05. The overall analysis of the results showed that 83.3% of the participants presented a medium risk and 16.5% a low risk. This allowed us to identify a moderate negative correlation between the RULA score and the craniocervical angle (r = -0.371; p = 0.044). These values indicate that the higher the ergonomic risk, the poorer the cervical alignment.
