Abstract
This research project examines the methods and measurement of work in the post-harvest process of FAVEL FLOWERS EXPORT, a company dedicated to the production and export of the summer wallflower in its wide variety of colors. The importance of a detailed analysis of the activities involved in the process, reducing execution times, and improving workflow, is emphasized. To this end, the process stages were identified: reception, preparation, hydration, and packaging, establishing standard times for processing wallflower bunches.
The production stages were analyzed through the application of data collection techniques. Direct observation allowed for the development of documents related to the work method, such as flowcharts, synoptic diagrams, analytical diagrams, and human-machine diagrams. These tools facilitated the understanding of the activities at each stage and were essential for identifying inefficiencies, unproductive times, and opportunities for improvement.
Based on the analysis of the current method and the development of the time study, potential opportunities for improvement were identified, focusing on the redistribution of activities, reducing downtime, and improving box assembly. As part of the proposal, the SMED methodology was applied in the packaging stage, identified as the bottleneck, and line balancing was implemented in the production process. These actions would allow the company to achieve an efficiency of 93.65%, representing an increase in productivity.

El presente proyecto de investigación abarca el estudio del método y medición del trabajo en el proceso de Postcosecha de la empresa FAVEL FLOWERS EXPORT, dedicada a la producción y exportación de la flor de verano Alhelí en su gran variedad de colores. Se resalta la importancia de analizar detalladamente las actividades que conforman el proceso, reducir los tiempos de ejecución y mejorar el flujo de trabajo. Para ello, se identificaron las etapas del proceso: recepción, preparación, hidratación y empaque, estableciendo tiempos estándar para el procesamiento de bunchs de Alhelí.
Se analizaron las etapas productivas mediante la aplicación de técnicas para la recolección de información. La observación directa permitió la elaboración de documentos relacionados con el método de trabajo, como flujogramas, diagramas sinópticos, diagramas analíticos y diagramas hombre máquina. Estos instrumentos facilitaron la comprensión de las actividades en cada etapa, y resultaron fundamentales para identificar ineficiencias, tiempos improductivos y oportunidades para aplicar una mejora.
A partir del análisis del método actual y el desarrollo del estudio de tiempos, se identificaron posibles oportunidades de mejora enfocadas en la redistribución de las actividades, la reducción de tiempos improductivos y la mejora en el armado de cajas. Como parte de la propuesta, se aplicó la metodología SMED en la etapa de empaque, identificada como el cuello de botella, y se implementó un balanceo de líneas en el proceso productivo.
