Descripción : The restrictions imposed by the government to contain the spread of Covid-19 have had a great influence on companies in the textile sector. The research corresponds to the Territorial Business Development research line with a focus on local production systems. The objective was to analyze the effect of the economic crisis derived from the Covid-19 pandemic on consumer behavior, their perception of the brand and its influence on the current demand of the textile sector in the Ambato city. A mixed methodology was developed with a descriptive and correlational type of research through a deductive and exploratory scope. For the quantitative approach, the written survey was achieved as a technique with the questionnaire instrument aimed at clothing consumers and for the qualitative approach, the structured interview technique was achieved with the interview guide instrument addressed to business owners in the sector. The results allow determining the perception of the brand and behavior of the current consumer, where it is determined that users are looking for comfortable, quality and lower-priced garments, in addition to considering that businesses can improve with the implementation of products for a new market segment. Likewise, businesses have been greatly affected by the restrictions on their level of sales, reducing between fifty and sixty percent. Finally, thanks to the Pearson statistical test executed to verify the hypothesis, the influence of brand perception on consumer behavior is determined.
