Resiliencia en estudiantes con discapacidad visual
(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-01-19) Montero Ortiz, Jeremy Aldair; Paredes Ruíz, Teresa de Jesús
The study addressed resilience in students with visual disabilities at the Technical University of Ambato, a problem framed within structural, social, and pedagogical barriers that limited their full inclusion in higher education; its general purpose was to analyze resilience in this group, with specific objectives to conceptualize it in relation to the educational experience, identify the factors that strengthened it, and determine the obstacles that restricted it. The methodology was developed under a qualitative and descriptive approach, using analytic‑synthetic and inductive methods, with a population of 11 participants and techniques such as participant observation and semi‑structured interviews supported by Atlas.ti. . The results showed a predominance of positive feelings over negative ones, a greater presence of resilient traits and adapted resilience, and a lower frequency of dominated resilience; likewise, protective factors such as social reinforcement were identified, along with persistent barriers such as lack of accessibility, family overprotection, and limited institutional empathy. In conclusion, resilience was configured as a dynamic and ecological process dependent on the interaction between personal resources, social support, and institutional conditions, which required strengthening inclusive policies, teacher training, support networks, and autonomy strategies to ensure equitable and transformative higher education. This analysis made it possible to understand that resilience was not a static trait but a construction nurtured by experiences, bonds, and learning, showing that educational inclusion required more than technical adaptations, as it demanded cultural and pedagogical changes that recognized diversity as a value; thus, the research provided evidence to promote institutional practices that favored equity and full participation, consolidating a framework for future actions aimed at improving educational quality and social justice

(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Posgrado, Maestría en Periodismo Digital, 2018-06) Palacios Carrillo, José Vinicio; Jiménez Sánchez, Álvaro
Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have created new forms of interaction in society, making it possible to include people with disabilities in the Information Society; however, this possibility is not yet open to everyone, given several factors, including economic ones. There are now digital devices and tools that facilitate access to information, while at the same time, initiatives are being incorporated from both the public and private spheres in an attempt to ensure equal conditions in the use of these instruments, which make greater opportunities possible in different fields, where technology is a strategic ally. The present contribution presents, in part, a reality about the digital divide that exists in the area of disabilities and its relationship with the difficulties of access to ICT. It includes interesting criteria on issues inherent to inclusive education, which point to the State as the main guarantor of this right and thus prevent gaps in inequality, discrimination and exclusion of persons with disabilities in Ecuador. The media and channels most used by people with visual impairment to obtain information are identified, based on a qualitative analysis obtained from interviews with the target audience. The purpose was to find out which medium is most accessible to them and facilitates the effective transmission and reception of the message. From these results, certain recommendations are concluded that give way to the proposal and that aspire to become a viable alternative to generate spaces that allow for greater inclusion in the labor, educational, social and cultural areas, but above all, in terms of the Information Society, to make them visible in a world that is projected to an increasingly virtual scenario. One of the most important aspects of these actions is training, with the participation of professionals with experience in disabilities and ICTs. This will facilitate a process that motivates participants. All this accompanied by and that an adequate promotion, will make possible that more people with visual disability will take the initiative to incorporate themselves to the learning of the handling of digital technological tools.

(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales , Carrera de Derecho, 2016-05) Villacis Defaz, Brigitte de los Ángeles; Cortés Naranjo, Edwin
The graduation work in the form of thesis entitled "THE CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO INTEGRAL REHABILITATION AND GOOD LIVING THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED" poses to fulfill the rights of Good Living for people with visual disabilities, emphasizing that the effective development of his life he begins in a comprehensive rehabilitation. The legal provision of Art. 47 of the Constitution of Ecuador 2008, establishes the recognition of the right to comprehensive rehabilitation and permanent assistance include appropriate technical aids therefore requires the State to establish legal rules takes effective this right. Not having a law and even worse to have in place an obsolete law, as is the Law of the Blind, violates human rights and is reflected in the labor inclusion and labor integration, since a visually impaired person undischarged integrally has no autonomy in the performance of their duties, it is therefore essential to establish policies that are aimed at independent fulfillment of people with visual disabilities. It is then, where was born the idea that the establishment of laws is not enough, you need to go to the reality couple of legal regulations. A more common legal rules, is the regime of Good Living, as a public policy posed a dignified life as a fundamental basis for the development of individuals in society, rights such as education, communication, recreation, sports, housing, health and work are recognized in Chapter II of Title II of the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador 2008, and for people with visual impairment is more difficult to implement because they currently do not have a procedure effective comprehensive rehabilitation guaranteed by the State, is essential that the implementation of legal rules that allow compliance with this right in full for persons with visual disabilities.
