Item Resiliencia y Bienestar Socioemocional en docentes(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-07-08) Chiluisa Parra, Jennifer Dayana; Torres Carrillo, Silvia SusanaResilience and socio-emotional well-being in teachers are fundamental elements for adequate professional and personal performance within the educational context, especially in the face of the emotional and work-related demands present in the school environment. This research aimed to analyze the relationship between resilience and socio-emotional well-being in teachers at the “Ramón Barba Naranjo” Educational Unit, considering the importance of strengthening personal resources that allow them to cope with situations of pressure, stress, and constant change within the teaching profession. The study was conducted using a quantitative, correlational, and nonexperimental cross-sectional design. Data was collected using the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) and the Carol Ryff Psychological Well-being Scale, adapted into Spanish by Díaz et al., (2006), administered to a population of 70 teachers from the educational institution. The results showed a high level of resilience among the teachers, with persistence, tenacity, and self-efficacy being particularly prominent, along with adaptability and support networks. However, weaknesses were observed in coping under pressure and spirituality, indicating difficulties in emotional management during stressful situations. Regarding socio-emotional wellbeing, the highest-scoring dimension was personal growth, demonstrating a willingness to learn and continuously develop. In contrast, autonomy showed lower scores, indicating some limitations in confidence in their own opinions and in their ability to make decisions. Furthermore, a positive and significant relationship was found between resilience and socio-emotional well-being, confirming the research hypothesis and determining that higher levels of resilience tend to be associated with higher levels of socio-emotional well-being in teachers.Item Violencia intrafamiliar y resiliencia en mujeres(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-01-21) Guamaní Yanez, Doménica Lizbeth; Pino Loza, Eulalia DoloresDomestic violence is a persistent problem that significantly affects family well-being, particularly impacting women. This study analyzes the risk factors that manifest themselves in these contexts, as well as the levels of resilience in women who use the “Women's Center” program in the province of Osorno, taking into account a scenario characterized by sociocultural disparities, economic instability, and geographical differences that hinder access to protection. Two instruments were used, the Domestic Violence Risk Factor Scale (EFR-VIF) and the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), with a correlational, cross-sectional, and quantitative approach, in a sample composed of women who have suffered domestic violence. The results revealed that the most significant risks are related to traditional gender beliefs that legitimize abuse, the perpetrator's lifestyle linked to drug and alcohol use, age, family history of violence, economic difficulties, and health problems that increase dependence and vulnerability. With regard to resilience, medium to high levels were found, highlighting virtues such as persistence, self-efficacy, and tenacity, as well as the ability to adapt to change and support networks. However, weaknesses were observed in emotional control under pressure and in the use of spirituality as a coping strategy. The results obtained showed a relationship between risk factors and resilience, in which women recognize these factors and demonstrate coping skills. Likewise, a significant but weak correlation was found between domestic violence and resilience, indicating that women who experience more violence tend to activate their personal resources and the support they receive from their environment with greater intensity. In this sense, resilience does not appear on its own, but develops with support and accompaniment that help women regain stability and autonomyItem Estrategias de afrontamiento de las familias con integrantes con discapacidad(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2025-07-31) Morales Toapanta, Mónica Ximena; Campoverde Quijano, Egda MaribelThe social, economic, and cultural dynamics of families with members with disabilities have shaped caregivers' ability to structure strategies for coping with this condition. This is due to the limited institutional presence, the family's economic situation, and the strong community cohesion, which builds a new lifestyle in the face of the challenges they face with disabilities. The research aims to analyze the coping strategies of families with members with disabilities in the San José de Huambaló Foundation. The study is exploratory, descriptive, and explanatory. It uses a quantitative methodology based on the development of a questionnaire comprised of six dimensions: family restructuring, support from friends and family, spiritual support, formal support, support from neighbors, and passive evaluation. Data collection was carried out through fieldwork, in which 50 families in the San José de Huambaló Foundation were surveyed. The conclusions were determined: the informal support network is the immediate family, and the formal support network is comprised of healthcare professionals and even a religious leader for guidance. Furthermore, the families have developed problem-solvin g skills and good emotional intelligence management skills to address the challenges they face daily. The following recommendations are suggested: recognition for families or cities that support individuals with disabilities, support activities with religious institutions, integration activities, and the collection of family socioeconomic information.Item Intervención del trabajo social en tanatología y el afrontamiento ante un diagnóstico de cáncer(Universidad Técnica de Ambato,Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2022-09) Andrade Constante, Alison Nicole; Pino Loza, Eulalia DoloresOver the last years, social work has been evolving its arrangement of intervention. The development of the subject of social work and thanatology is lately initiated by the attempt to understand the processes of grief and coping in people with a cancer diagnosis and a palliative diagnosis, more unequivocally, in the terminal phases. The current study offers a concise overview of the essential results of thanatology, considering the changes that have been occurring due to social advances. Consequently, the following aspects are also scrutinized: Managing with a diagnosis of cancer, dying as a process, the stages of grief in the face of health loss, the accompaniment of dying, and death. Eventually, the usefulness of social work intervention in a thanatological procedure is defended. The study presents an exploratory and descriptive level since it is a theme that has not been worked on in detail before. Furthermore, it manages to provide possible answers to the questions of the influence of social work in thanatology and coping with a diagnosis of cancer. The population implicated was twenty-five patients who presented the characteristics for the research. The objective of the current investigation is to determine the influence of the social worker in coping with a diagnosis of cancer. The information was collected using the EFD66 scale in which the phase of grief of each patient was pinpointed. On the other hand, life stories allowed contrasting the dissimilar life histories of the patients; finally, it was possible to characterize that patient require accompaniment from the initial phase to the final phase of the diagnosis. Based on the information collected, it is recommended to implement the intervention strategies of thanatology from social work for faring with the diagnosis of cancer and palliative diagnosis.
