(Universidad Tècnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2024-02) Flores Carrasco, Melanie Nicole; Altamirano Altamirano, Silvia Jovanna
The study focuses on investigating the influence of post-divorce coparenting on the parenting processes of children, emphasizing the importance of understanding how the relationship between separated parents affects the well-being and development of children in new family structural contexts. To achieve this goal, a quantitative approach was applied for the research, using previously validated questionnaires and adopting a descriptive and correlational research level. Additionally, the methodology employed addresses the research with analyticsynthetic methods and a hypothetical-deductive approach to examine the relationships between variables. Analysis techniques include the use of descriptive statistical tools to identify patterns and trends. The study population focuses on separated parents who act as legal representatives of high school students attending the Ricardo Descalzi Educational Unit, providing a relevant perspective on the issue in the Ambato canton. Results and conclusions highlight that post-divorce coparenting significantly influences parenting processes. The research provides valuable information on how this dynamic impacts the comprehensive development of children, emphasizing the importance of improving collaboration between separated parents to optimize the parenting environment. In summary, this study makes an essential contribution to understanding post-divorce coparenting and its implications for parenting, providing a foundation for interventions aimed at improving the quality of life for families in divorce situations
