There were three specific objectives of the social work: to theoretically substantiate social factors, identify factors that affect children's diet, and determine the impact of that diet on children's development. Children's nutrition is a fundamental pillar of development. In the San Fernando Parish, several social factors have a direct impact on children's nutritional status, including the socioeconomic status of families. This research is part of the study: patterns of social behavior. To achieve the objectives, a quantitative design was used, with a descriptive, non-experimental method. A population of 80 childcare providers from the San Fernando Parish was selected. The results showed a significant relationship between social variables, such as children's education, household income, and access to medical care, and a lower-quality diet. Using the Spearman factor, a direct relationship between the observed social factors and nutrition was confirmed. Finally, recommendations were made to improve families' socioeconomic conditions, promote nutritional education, and increase health professionals' understanding of social factors, and outline future research.
