Item type:Ítem, La inteligencia artificial: desafíos y oportunidades en el periodismo(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudenca y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Comunicaciòn, 2025-08-01) ;Solis Zambrano, Viviana AnahíOrtega Arcos, Wagner EnriqueThis research analyzes the impact of artificial intelligence (Al) on contemporary journalism, at a time when technology is redefining the communicator”s role and deeply transforming news dynamics. In a landscape shaped by immediacy and automation, this study focuses on the ethical, professional, and social challenges arising from the integration of intelligent systems into the media environment. A qualitative methodology was applied, using semi-structured interviews with print, radio, and television journalists in the city of Ambato. The insights gathered reveal a growing duality: while some professionals highlight the benefits of Al in optimizing workflows, personalizing content, and combating misinformation, others express concern over the loss of human judgment, narrative sensitivity, and the ethical foundations of journalism. Findings show that Al, rather than being a threat, can be a powerful tool to enhance journalistic practice—when used responsibly. Instead of replacing communication professionals, Al should reinforce their critical thinking, their role as social mediators, and their commitment to truth. This study calls for reflection and adaptation: embracing technology as a complementary resource without abandoning the core principles of journalism. It is through this balance that a new communicative model can emerge—one where technological innovation and human insight coexist in harmony, ensuring that journalism continues to serve society with integrity and purpose.Item type:Ítem, José Delgado: estéticas y narrativas neobarrocas del periodismo ecuatoriano(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudenca y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Comunicaciòn, 2025-08-01) ;Rosero Villamarín, Daniela AbigailBrito Alvarado, Leonardo XavierThis research analyzes the journalism of José Delgado, who uses neo-baroque aesthetics to reflect the pain and popular drama in a society marked by inequality and aggression. The main objective is to identify the neo-baroque elements in his reports, such as images of bodies, people in street situations, drug use and scenarios of violence, since he uses colloquial language and intimate testimonies that reconfigure reality and generate an emotional connection with the viewer. The research is based on a critical discourse analysis approach, identifying categories such as the spectacularization of violence and the aestheticization of suffering. The analysis matrix decomposes the content into sociocultural, political, and linguistic dimensions, evidencing the duality between the sensational and the human. The results indicate that his reports not only exhibit crime, but also present an aesthetic of excess and drama, merging compassion, spectacularization and morbidity, transforming suffering into spectacle and turning the viewer into an emotional witness of realityItem type:Ítem, El derecho a la libertad de expresión: análisis del caso radio pichincha universal(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Derecho, 2025-03-21) ;Bucheli Escobar, Karen MishellVargas Villacrés, Borman RenánThe right to freedom of expression is a fundamental element within society, it guarantees that there is a fair and balanced democracy in the different countries, so that the population when exercising this right can express themselves freely about the different events, being a right enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador, it is guaranteed and safeguarded by the State, which ensures that there will be no reprisals when exercising it. There are international organizations that protect this right, even cataloging it as fundamental for individuals. Therefore, the objective of the research is to carefully analyze the national regulations in Ecuador such as conventions and treaties issued by international entities that safeguard freedom of expression, in addition to analyzing an emblematic case in the country "Radio Pichincha Universal". For this reason, the qualitative methodology was used, employing an analytical, explanatory approach, based on secondary sources to obtain information on the subject. Through the investigation, it is concluded that despite the fact that Freedom of Expression is a fundamental human right and is enshrined in regulations such as the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador and international regulations, it has been violated not only by the Ecuadorian State but even by other countries, since in some way citizen opinion does not benefit the government in power, thus generating reprisals towards the media with the aim of closing them down and not allowing them to disseminate their opinionsItem type:Ítem, Mujeres en el periodismo deportivo y el rol que desempeñan en los medios de comunicación(Universidad Tècnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Comunicaciòn, 2024-08) ;Gallegos Morales, Erick SantiagoViteri Torres, Walter FranciscoIn the 21st century, the presence of women in sports journalism, an area of great relevance within the media industry, is still a problem. Using the category of gender to characterize the sports field as a space of generic distinction where dominance is built around masculinity, we analyze how this model transcends in the representation of sports in the press, radio and television. This proposal was also born with the idea of investigating the knowledge of women's participation in sports journalism, which has been created exclusively to occupy roles that limit the opportunities to emerge in the different occupations within the radios in the city of Ambato, including the work of commentator or narrator in soccer games. The methodology used is quantitative, since 370 people (audience) who attend soccer games at the Bellavista stadium in the city of Ambato were surveyed, and interviews were conducted with journalists who have extensive experience in the area of sports journalism. Within the world of journalism, there are women who work in this area, the problem is when they want to get more involved with the media, many assume that this area of journalism should be exercised and led by men. The study on women in sports journalism and participation in the media states that the role of women in radio in soccer broadcasts is to perform commercial voice, field edge or simply fulfill interviews in sports programs, it was also found that it is important the inclusion of women journalists in different functions at the same rank as men, also because it was diagnosed that the audience has not heard many women performing activities in sports programs, there have been very few, yet they would like to hear women in the story or comments in official soccer matches. In short, in the city of Ambato and in different parts of Ecuador, there is still inequality in the field of sports journalism, either by the same stereotypes or simply discrimination. The representation of women in the media in Ambato shows a trend towards greater inclusion, although still insufficient compared to men. The inclusion of more women in these key roles would not only enrich the sports narrative but also contribute to a more just and balanced representation in Ambato's media.Item type:Ítem, Retos y desafíos del periodismo ecuatoriano en tiempos de covid-19(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. That is where the traditional media seek to penetrate these alternative channels of communication for the purpose of getting or recovering audiences of new and own public. People use social networks to promote business, make complaints or simply communicate with friends or loved ones, as a result, it has been seen that news programs in traditional media have incorporated in their journalism strategies to these platforms With the purpose of providing faster information and wider coverage. It is not enough that a news program has accounts in social networks, if they do not give an adequate use, for that reason I propose to design a communication plan for the management in the social networks of the informative content of the news program of Unimax Television which will allow updating The news built in the press department and keep the citizens informed of the events that happen in the city, the province and the country.Item type:Ítem, La información en situaciones de desastres naturales en Ambavisión canal 2(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Comunicación Social, 2017-05) ;Suárez Bastidas, Gissela LizbethNaranjo Gamboa, Byron OrlandoThis research shows the management of information in the natural disaster situation in Ambavisión channel 2 of the Tungurahua Province, a communication medium that for 29 years transmitted information of various kinds, the analysis points of this work, its key to identify the Knowledge of the administrative and operational team on journalistic coverage on the subject of natural disasters. Through this recent research, it pretends to determine the influence of journalism on the institutional identity from students of Eighth, Ninth and Tenth year of Elementary education at Unidad Educativa Indoamérica in Ambato city, Tungurahua province. For this purpose, the research was based on a population of 92 students of the years mentioned who are between 11 and 16 years old, which the half are men and the other half are women, that guarantee a better perception of the research about the genre. This report describes the situation that students live in the UEI as the information received about the events and facts that happen inside or outside the class and how they feel about the school that they belong to as a part of the internal public. The field research determined that the school is disorganized as far as regards the institutional communication since only a journalism commission exists that is formed by some teachers who are not experts in the communication area and it only has the role of publishing press releases about the events that happened in the UEI. However, the information transmitted is not directed to students since they do not use the appropriate resources nor the media to reach this audience. Therefore, the purpose is to create and spread the communicational products through the social web page Facebook as a communicational strategy to promote the institutional values among the students from Elementary Education at Unidad Educativa Indoamérica.
