Item type:Ítem, Calidad de vida y Violencia de exilio en migrantes venezolanos(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-07-07) ;Tiñe Tiñe, Katherine SilvanaTorres Carrillo, Silvia SusanaThis study, entitled "Quality of Life and Violence in the Context of Exile Among Venezuelan Migrants," aimed to analyze the living conditions and experiences of violence faced by Venezuelan migrants belonging to the Jóvenes para el Futuro Foundation in the city of Ambato. The research employed a qualitative approach, utilizing self-designed interviews validated by social work professionals and administered to 15 Venezuelan migrants selected through nonprobability sampling. Through the testimonies obtained, factors related to economic hardship, employment difficulties, emotional impact, support networks, and social adaptation problems were identified, all of which directly influence the quality of life of this population. Furthermore, various manifestations of violence were evident, including discrimination, social exclusion, humiliation, and human rights violations during the migration and adaptation process in Ecuador. The results reflect that migration was marked by vulnerability, insecurity, and emotional distress such as stress, anxiety, sadness, and homesickness, primarily due to family separation and economic limitations. However, a significant capacity for resilience, adaptation, and personal growth was also identified, driven by the desire to achieve better life opportunities and support their families.Item type:Ítem, Identidad y Bienestar del Adulto Mayor(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-07-06) ;Bermudes Pico, Carlos DanielNaranjo Ruiz, Viviana Fidencia Naranjo RuizThe project helped determine the influence of well-being on the social identity of older adults, where social identity is reinforced when spaces for participation and inclusion exist, where their life story, knowledge, and contributions to the community are recognized. Maintaining a positive social identity is a protective factor against psychological decline and social exclusion. Through a mixed-methods approach, the identity and well-being of older adults attending the Totoras Parish Council were studied. The research employed a qualitative approach to understand perceptions, sense of belonging, social roles, community participation, and recognition of social identity; as well as a quantitative approach to numerically measure well-being and social identity. A 12-question survey with Likert-scale response options was administered to 52 older adults in the Totoras Parish, and two social workers were interviewed using a 10-question questionnaire, allowing the study to determine the influence of well-being on the social identity of this population. The results show that well-being depends not only on physical health, but also on emotional, family, and social factors that allow older adults to maintain an active and strengthened social identity; for this reason, it is suggested that the GAD and institutions linked to the care of older adults implement comprehensive programs aimed at strengthening the emotional, social, and community well-being of this vulnerable populationItem type:Ítem, Percepción de la aporofobia en redes sociales en estudiantes universitarios(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2025-02-20) ;Chacón Brito, Anthony JosueChiliquinga Véjar, Lorena Del CarmenThe research addresses the perception of aporophobia in social networks, focused on university students of the Faculty of Jurisprudence and Social Sciences of the Technical University of Ambato, the study approach was quantitative, using a self-authored questionnaire, carried through a process of validation of content and reliability, designed to measure five dimensions. In recent years, aporophobia has gained relevance in the social and academic sphere, highlighting the urgency of understanding its manifestation in digital environments, where hate speech towards people living in poverty finds a space of propagation, this phenomenon affects the social perception of poverty, reinforces negative stereotypes and generates emotional impacts on users exposed to this content. The results revealed that most students have an average perception of the phenomenon, recognizing aporophobic content in viral publications, but facing difficulty in identifying them in close interactions, which suggests a normalization of the discourse in these contexts, the participants showed sensitivity towards this type of content, although the concrete action to denounce or confront it is limited. In conclusion, the results show the need to generate educational and regulatory spaces that promote an understanding of aporophobia in social networks, promoting respect, inclusion and empathy in digital environments, and also highlight the importance of strategies that empower users to act against discriminatory discourses and contribute to building a more just and egalitarian society.Item type:Ítem, El bullying en los estudiantes con necesidades educativas especiales(Universidad Tècnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2024-03) ;Tenorio Soria, Mireya PaolaAltamirano Altamirano, Silvia JovannaThe present article addresses the issue of bullying in students with special educational needs (SEN) with the aim of providing a deep understanding of the dynamics and specific manifestations of this phenomenon in an inclusive educational context.
