Item type:Ítem, El delito de extorsión y la actividad laboral de las cooperativas de transporte interprovincial del cantón Pelileo(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Derecho, 2026-01-22) ;Alvarado Gavilanes, Carlos AlejandroRamiro Tite, SegundoThe research conducted in this thesis aims to study the incidence of extortion in the work activities of interprovincial transport cooperatives in Pelileo. This is done to analyze its legal, economic, and social effects and, in this way, propose options for its prevention and control. This investigation was carried out using a qualitative methodology through the application of a questionnaire and interviews with key groups directly or indirectly involved in the analysis of the issue. The results obtained paint a worrying picture, showing that this problem has been steadily increasing in recent years and affects the lives of both transport operators and users of the transport service. Given the widespread violence and insecurity in the country, perpetrated mainly by criminal groups, who use extortion as one of their primary means of operation and obtaining the financial resources to fund their criminal activities, this reality has limited interprovincial transport services. Drivers often have to reduce the frequency oftheir service or even stop operating altogether. Other observations include that the most insecure areas are those along routes to various parts of the Ecuadorian coast, and that extortion is widespread among interprovincial transport cooperatives, whose members believe that legal and security mechanisms do not provide sufficient guarantees for their protection and safety to carry out their work normally.Item type:Ítem, Equilibrio entre el derecho a la seguridad, privacidad y la penalización de la Infocracia(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Derecho, 2026-01-22) ;Viracocha Molina, Carlos EmanuelAcosta Morales, María GabrielaThis relevant academic study addresses the emerging phenomenon known as Infocracy, conceptualized as a form of political control based on the mass manipulation of information through the use of digital algorithms. This has created a visible tension between the right to security and the protection of individual privacy worldwide. The problem lies in the rapid pace of technological advancement compared to existing regulations, especially those concerning surveillance and data extraction. Ecuador lacks an effective legal response to this phenomenon, risking excessive penalties that could violate fundamental rights. The study's overall objective is to examine the balance between the right to privacy and security in the face of the potential criminalization of Infocracy. To this end, the study identifies the main reasons for the possible criminalization of Infocracy, analyzes the legal consequences this would entail, and concludes with an analysis of how this balance is disrupted when privacy becomes a factor in insecurity. The study employs a qualitative approach, using both documentary and bibliographic research, with exploratory and descriptive levels. Using analytical-synthetic, hermeneutic, historical-critical, and heuristic methods, the national regulations were deconstructed and compared with models of comparative law, in this case, that of the European Union. The results led to a rejection of potential criminalization, since, to sanction algorithmic and diffuse conduct, the criminal route is dangerous due to its potential for censorship. It was concluded that the true balance lies not in using the State's punitive power, but in an administrative and electoral regulatory approach, inspired by the European Digital Services Act, which sanctions digital platforms for their structural risks and thus protects personal data without criminalizing citizens. Consequently, reform of the Democracy Code and strengthening of the Data Protection Superintendency are recommended as effective mechanisms for preventive rather than punitive oversight.Item type:Ítem, El anime como discurso político: representación y narrativas poshumanistas y la deshumanización del enemigo en la serie Attack on Titan(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Comunicación, 2026-01-21) ;Medina Salas, Kevin GinoDávila Fabricio, Omar SotoThis thesis analyzes the series Attack on Titan as a political discourse that uses animation to reflect on themes such as war, identity, dehumanization, and the limits of what it means to be human. From a qualitative approach, and applying discourse analysis and content analysis, key scenes from the series are examined to observe how the idea of the “enemy” is constructed and how it is reinforced through fear, propaganda, and social control. The study also reviews the posthumanist representations present in the story, especially the way in which the characters transform into hybrid beings that question what it means to be human and to have one’s own identity. The research shows that Attack on Titan is not only an action story, but also reflects real issues related to power, ideological manipulation, and military structures that legitimize violence. In this way, the series demonstrates how the creation of the “other” functions as a political tool to justify conflicts and exclusions. Additionally, it is noted that the human body, when turned into a weapon or strategic Tesource, occupies a central role within the posthumanist narrative. Finally, the thesis concludes that anime can be a highly influential medium for conveying social and political discourses, shaping viewers” perceptions and encouraging critical reflection on violence, war, and the ways in Which societies justify their actions in the name of security or survival.Item type:Ítem, Organización comunitaria y la seguridad ciudadana(Universidad Tècnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2024-02) ;Muñoz Arias, Jennifer VanessaHaro Lara, Aída PatriciaThe present research is conceived and directed towards the inhabitants of Cruzpamba neighborhood, Santiago de Píllaro Canton, who face the harsh reality of insecurity on a daily basis, leading to social impact and a decline in the quality of life for its residents. By opting for a quantitative approach, the goal is to obtain precise and measurable information about the variables under investigation. In this process, standardized methods for data collection are employed, such as a survey, which revealed that Cruzpamba neighborhood exhibits a significant degree of community organization through neighborhood committees, although the lack of participation and active collaboration of residents hinders addressing security issues and other community aspects. The absence of effective communication strategies between the community and the police, as well as the lack of specific security programs, contribute to the overall perception of insecurity. The lack of coordination and active participation within the community directly contributes to a general sense of insecurity.
