This research aims to conductan in-depth and comprehensive analysis of the relationship between work-life balance policies and the well-being and integrity of workers in Ecuador. It considers the current national and intemational legal framework, current business practices within the oil sector, and workers' real and felt perceptions of their quality of life. The research begins with a diagnosis of the Ecuadorian regulatory framework, employing a mixed-methods approach. This approach utilizes structured surveys administered to workers in the public and private oil sectors, as well as interviews with specialists in labor law, human resources, and business management. The results show that, despite the existence of formal policies, their practical application is limited. The research concludes that work-life balance is not only a constitutional right but also a key factor in the well-being and integrity of workers and their families. It highlights the need to implement and strengthen regulations with comprehensive policies applied from a rights-based perspective, along with training for employers and authorities to promote a positive organizational culture. Based on respect and shared responsibility for humanizing work.

The era of globalization and the rise of new technologies represent a milestone in the global economy, generating one of the most significant changes in the traditional world of work by enabling production and service provision via the internet. One clear example of this evolution is the rise of platform capitalism, also known as the platform economy. This phenomenon has become increasingly prominent around the world over the last ten years. Along with it has come one of the greatest disruptions to the world of work. Although it offers new income-generating opportunities and plays a role in social containment in the face of unemployment, it also brings precariousness and volatility. This creates regulatory challenges and calls into question the scope of labor protection regulations designed for the traditional economy. In this context, examining the legal protection of platform workers in the digital age within the Ecuadorian legal system is essential. This topic falls within the line of research known as public policy, law, and society. This study employs a descriptive methodology with a quantitative approach, incorporating bibliographic discussion, normative exegesis, jurisprudential analysis, and an empirical approach through surveys administered to geolocated platform workers. The results reveal weak legal coverage surrounding this new form of work, generating legal uncertainty and vulnerability in the exercise of fundamental rights. Thus, there is a need for regulatory reforms that recognize and regulate this emerging reality in Ecuador.

The presented study, titled "Informal Work and Labor Rights in Migrants," addresses a relevant and current reality in the context of Ecuador, especially in the city of Ambato. In this location, a notable increase in the number of Venezuelan citizens in vulnerable migratory situations has been observed. The research is significant because it reveals how the phenomenon of informal work directly affects the exercise and protection of these individuals' labor rights. To conduct this research, a quantitative methodology was used, at a descriptive and correlational level, which included structured interviews with Venezuelan migrants associated with the "Jóvenes para el Futuro" Foundation. This approach facilitated a detailed understanding of the reasons driving labor informality, the deficiencies in labor rights protection, and the true living and working conditions of the participants. The research's focus is on social exclusion and integration, critically analyzing the processes of social and labor exclusion experienced by migrants in informal situations. As both a scientific and social contribution, the study emphasizes the need to develop inclusive public policies that ensure fair access to dignified work. Additionally, a social intervention model from community Social Work is proposed, supporting the defense of labor rights and promoting socioeconomic integration processes. This proposal represents progress for future research and actions benefiting the human and labor rights of the migrant population

This paper is an investigation on the right to a decent quality of life for domestic workers in Guaranda canton, Bolivar province. Its main objective is to analyze how this right is fulfilled among these workers, who are in a situation of vulnerability and labor exploitation. Given that their place of work is the homes of the citizens of Guaranda, control is difficult, which facilitates the continuous violation of their labor rights and prevents them from satisfying their basic needs to achieve a dignified life. In addition, this research seeks to determine the specific labor regime of domestic workers, identifying the main gaps between legislation and actual practice, and proposing measures to eliminate these gaps and improve their quality of life. The research, carried out using a non-experimental design and a mixed methodological approach, included three interviews with labor experts and 100 surveys of members of a union of domestic workers in Guaranda canton. The findings reveal a significant violation of their labor rights, reflecting insufficient control by the competent authorities. The workers do not receive the fourteenth salary or the thirteenth salary, lack insurance, are not granted paid vacations, are not paid for overtime, and the mandatory breaks established by law are not respected, which undermines labor rights recognized in the Constitution and international treaties. This situation affects both women workers and their families, underscoring the need to implement policies and actions to ensure fair and dignified working conditions in the domestic sector. This problem shows how the work environment in private homes makes it difficult to monitor and regulate effectively, allowing domestic workers to continue in a state of exploitation and vulnerability. The results of the research seek to serve as a basis for developing policies that promote equity and protection of labor rights, improving the quality of life of domestic workers and their families

The labor rights are a duty of the State, which has the obligation to ensure the effective compliance in all areas where a labor activity is developed, so that citizens in general enjoy a decent employment and on equal conditions, however, despite the existence of regulations that guarantee the fulfillment of those labor rights, such as the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador, the labor code, constitutional mandates and ministerial agreements, the violation of rights to the interprovincial public transport sector has not been avoided, the present investigation has the intention of analyzing if the current labor regulations effectively guarantee the fulfillment of the fundamental rights of the workers in the interprovincial public transportation sector, the control by labor authorities and also the level of knowledge of their rights, through a bibliographic, documentary and field investigation applying the qualitative and quantitative method to obtain results, by means of a survey instrument applied to 80 workers of the interprovincial public transportation sector, among them professional drivers and service assistants, found mainly in the land terminal of Ambato city north and south, in addition to the application of surveys directed to the labor authority, associate of transport cooperatives, resulting in a lack of guaranteed compliance with labor rights, despite the existence of regulations and the ministerial agreement that supports rights, lack of knowledge of labor rights, and ineffective controls by the labor authority.
