Hence, the diffusion and knowledge of the information needs of people with visual disabilities are an enabler for the relationship and partnership with them and therefore a valuable contribution to the integration and social participation. In the present research work it was proposed as objective: to study how this affects the accessibility of information on the social inclusion of people with visual disabilities in the province of Tungurahua during the period October 2014 - February 2015, aiming to guarantee the rights of people with disability and helping to improve the quality of life for this group of priority. In this sense, knowledge outlined in the proposal help optimize the functional management of technological tools used in the creation and implementation of strategies into a working model oriented towards meeting accessibility requirements and standards in the context of the development of accessible communication products, considering aspects whose accessibility can be verified and continuously improved in the search entry, stay and quality processes, favoring the digital divide between technology and the different types of people. Finally, do not try to train specialists in the development of communications products accessible, on the contrary, it seeks to provide, in a simple, basic information and practical recommendations applicable in daily contact with people with visual disabilities, ensuring a more comfortable and effective relationship.Item Empoderamiento de personas con discapacidad en Areas Deportivas(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2025-02-21) Espinoza Villalva, Lenin Leandro; Campoverde Quijano, Egda MaribelThe empowerment of people with disabilities in the field of sports is essential for their full integration into society and their physical and emotional well-being. This research focuses on analyzing the level of empowerment of athletes with disabilities in the Paralympic Committee of Ecuador - Tungurahua, identifying the barriers they face and the factors that influence their participation in sports activities. The general objective is to analyze the level of empowerment of people with disabilities in sports areas, in order to identify the conditions and factors that favor or limit their inclusion in this context. Methodology, this research adopted a mixed approach, combining quantitative and qualitative methods to provide a broader understanding of the phenomenon. Simultaneous sampling was used, integrating probabilistic and nonprobabilistic methods to collect and analyze data in a comprehensive manner. The study is descriptive and the analytical-synthetic method was used. The study population consisted of 24 athletes from the Paralympic Committee of Ecuador - Tungurahua (14 men and 10 women), and the data were obtained from the official list maintained by the Secretariat. The results show that the empowerment of athletes with disabilities is closely related to accessibility to sports facilities, the support received by the family, society and institutions. Despite advances in inclusion, significant barriers persist, such as lack of accessible infrastructure, low awareness among coaches and peers, and emotional difficulties such as low self-esteem. This affects the full integration of people with disabilities in sport. The research concludes that there are several barriers that limit the empowerment of people with disabilities in sports, such as accessibility difficulties, lack of adapted categories and emotional barriers. In addition, sociodemographic factors such as age, gender and type of disability influence sporting needs and preferences. It is essential to develop policies, inclusive sports programs, ensure a supportive family and social environment, improve available resources to facilitate the active participation of people with disabilities, promoting their empowerment and overall well-being.Item Las relaciones interpersonales y la inclusión social de las personas con discapacidad visual en la Unidad Educativa Julius Doepfner de la Ciudad de Ambato(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2017-11) Caicedo López, Tatiana Lissette; Ortiz Díaz, Marcelo IvanThis research aimed to promote the interpersonal relationships and social inclusion of children and youth with visual impairment of the Unidad Educativa Julius Doepfner of the city of Ambato, in recognition of the skills and potential they possess, as well as also to the respect of their condition of life and their development in society. Addressing the issue of social inclusion is to seek a social interrelation between people with disabilities and society, often create social stereotypes, marginalization and grief for this human group, which reduce their self-esteem to consider non-productive. The methodology used in the investigative process was correlational and within the latter research, techniques applied, such as the survey and the interview with the purpose of gathering information about interpersonal relationships and social inclusion of the investigated. With the results obtained, conclusions were drawn that determined the existing shortcomings in the development of skills and competences of labor inclusion for people with visual impairment in society, in addition to discrimination and lack of acceptance of these people; which is why it was proposed as a recommendation to carry out a manual of process for the socio-labor inclusion of people with visual impairment of the Unidad Educativa Julius Doepfner at the Cooperativa San Francisco Ltda., in the city of Ambato; the same one that will have as main objective to create a practical instrument that guides to the inhabitants of the city of Ambato on the acceptance and participation that people with visual disability in their environment and the necessity to develop actions of awareness that involve both the family as well as to the same person with disabilities, thus recognizing their rights, promoting equal opportunities in society and facilitating their accessibility.Item Uso y accebilidad al periodismo para personas con discapacidad visual a través de plataformas analógicas y digitales(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Posgrado, Maestría en Periodismo Digital, 2018-06) Palacios Carrillo, José Vinicio; Jiménez Sánchez, ÁlvaroInformation and Communication Technologies (ICT) have created new forms of interaction in society, making it possible to include people with disabilities in the Information Society; however, this possibility is not yet open to everyone, given several factors, including economic ones. There are now digital devices and tools that facilitate access to information, while at the same time, initiatives are being incorporated from both the public and private spheres in an attempt to ensure equal conditions in the use of these instruments, which make greater opportunities possible in different fields, where technology is a strategic ally. The present contribution presents, in part, a reality about the digital divide that exists in the area of disabilities and its relationship with the difficulties of access to ICT. It includes interesting criteria on issues inherent to inclusive education, which point to the State as the main guarantor of this right and thus prevent gaps in inequality, discrimination and exclusion of persons with disabilities in Ecuador. The media and channels most used by people with visual impairment to obtain information are identified, based on a qualitative analysis obtained from interviews with the target audience. The purpose was to find out which medium is most accessible to them and facilitates the effective transmission and reception of the message. From these results, certain recommendations are concluded that give way to the proposal and that aspire to become a viable alternative to generate spaces that allow for greater inclusion in the labor, educational, social and cultural areas, but above all, in terms of the Information Society, to make them visible in a world that is projected to an increasingly virtual scenario. One of the most important aspects of these actions is training, with the participation of professionals with experience in disabilities and ICTs. This will facilitate a process that motivates participants. All this accompanied by and that an adequate promotion, will make possible that more people with visual disability will take the initiative to incorporate themselves to the learning of the handling of digital technological tools.
