Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de TelecomunicacionesThis study developed a smart connectivity technological proposal for the rural floriculture sector, aimed at the remote monitoring of agro-productive variables through the design and evaluation of communication alternatives. To this end, the process began with an analysis of operational and user requirements, referencing the ISO/IEC/IEEE 29148 standard and utilizing Reqview to maintain traceability among needs, evaluation criteria, and technology selection. Based on this process, Point-to- Multipoint (PtMP) wireless networks and Gigabit Passive Optical Networks (GPON) were identified as viable alternatives. The proposed architectures were structured with a primary node and five secondary nodes to provide connectivity to greenhouses, monitoring robots, wireless Access points, and other network equipment. Physical design, node distribution, and coverage analysis were conducted using AutoCAD, Google Earth, Radio Mobile, and UISP Design. The wireless alternative was evaluated by considering coverage, signal strength, transmission capacity, and propagation conditions. The GPON network was simulated in OptiSystem to analyze optical signal behavior and verify the operation of the proposed links. Finally, a techno-economic analysis was conducted by evaluating investment, operational, maintenance, and capital recovery costs. The results established that both proposals are technically and economically feasible for remote floricultural monitoring. The wireless network presents greater flexibility and a lower initial investment, whereas the fiber optic network offers superior stability, higher capacity, and greater scalability.Item type:Ítem, Propuesta tecnológica para la conectividad inteligente en el sector florícola mediante soluciones de redes de comunicación para monitoreo remoto en zonas rurales para la empresa Artil Robotics.(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Through the use of various processes intended for router and data traffic control devices, we can establish constant monitoring and increase the effectiveness of the network in the event of possible problems such as supplier outages or damage to the infrastructure. Carrera de Ingeniería en Electrónica y Comunicaciones, 2022-03) ;Ruiz Velasteguí, Evelyn EstefaníaBrito Moncayo, Geovanni DaniloThe internet is a fundamental tool in the modern world, becoming a basic service, opening the doors for the advancement of technology, making it essential for all activities, where fiber optics is the most efficient means of transmission of information in the field of telecommunications. In this research project, a study is carried out of the current network that the company CLICKNET SA owns, in the city of Patate, in which it provides service by radio link, with the objective of designing a Gpon network increasing the QoS, delimiting the city in two zones to supply the requirement of the costumers. The design and implementation is proposed because the demand from the costumers is notorious to carry out their activities satisfactorily, as well as an FTTH network with fiber optics up to the costumers with two levels of sharing of 1: 8 and 1:16, decreasing the losses that it would have if it were three levels. The designed network and the equipment of the GPON network must satisfy the technical requirements necessary to be scalable and flexible, whether the company wants to increase its services to Triple Play or have a growth in coverage. Finally, a volume of work and an optical budget is made to verify that the network does not have problems in its implementation, there can be several cost savings because the technicians in charge are trained to carry out various activities without the need to hire external personnel.
