Carrera de Tecnologías de la InformaciónTo enhance the efficiency of water resource management in rural communities, a technological solution was developed for the Totoras Drinking Water and Sanitation Administrative Board in response to deficiencies such as manual meter reading, frequent billing errors, and limitations in real-time consumption monitoring. The main objective of the project was to implement a multi-platform system based on Model View Controller (MVC) architecture for the intelligent monitoring of drinking water consumption. The proposal integrated IoT devices that allow accurate consumption data to be obtained and accessed remotely through a web and mobile application. The development was carried out on an experimental basis, with information collected through surveys, interviews, and direct observation in the field. The agile Kanban methodology was applied, allowing for iterative cycles that responded effectively to technical and operational requirements. Validation was carried out in a real environment with functional prototypes installed in homes in the Cristal neighbourhood. The projected results include the automation of meter readings, reduction of human error, immediate availability of historical data, and user empowerment through access to real-time consumption data. In addition, the implementation of the system improves service transparency and allows for future scalability to other communities with similar conditions.
