The research project was developed in the company “ANDREWS”, dedicated to jeans washing processing, which faces critical problems due to the absence of structured methodologies for capacity planning. Operations were managed based on empirical knowledge, generating delays in deliveries, disorganization in the allocation of resources and an overload of labor, mainly evidenced in the excessive overtime of the personnel. Translated with DeepL.com (free version) In response, a comprehensive capacity planning model was designed with a specific focus on the laundry area, taking as a reference the demand forecast for February 2025. The methodology included the identification of key products through demand analysis, the determination of standard times for each process operation, and the evaluation of installed capacity through man-machine diagrams. in addition, computer tools such as Excel and Minitab were used for data collection, analysis and calculation of operating indicators, together with the technical documentation necessary to establish the basis for standardizing procedures. Finally, a capacity planning model was developed to systematically and flexibly structure the management of production capacity. This model provides detailed and reliable information on the times required for each process operation, which facilitates a more precise scheduling of demand. At the same time, it optimizes the allocation of human and technical resources, ensuring an efficient use of the installed capacity and contributing to the operational balance according to the real needs of the production system.
