    The global textile industry is responsible for generating millions of tons of solid waste, leading to problems such as CO₂ emissions into the environment and the discharge of wastewater. In this context, the general objective of the research was to analyze the management of solid waste generated from the textile manufacturing process at the company SÁNCHEZ EDY SPORT. The study was conducted using a quantitative, descriptive approach over a period of four months to analyze the issue of solid waste. The study population focused specifically on the solid waste produced during the textile manufacturing process, which was identified through direct observation of the production process and by weighing the quantities generated during the mentioned period. Through the characterization of the solid waste found at SÁNCHEZ EDY SPORT and using the European Waste Catalogue (EWC) classification as a reference, the waste generated in each phase of the production process was identified and quantified, in accordance with Article 60 of the Reform of Book VI of the Unified Secondary Legislation. Fabric scraps were identified as the primary type of solid waste, accounting for 46.73% of the total. Other significant waste types include paper and cardboard at 15.16%, transfer paper at 11.83%, and plastic at 8.33% of the total non-hazardous solid waste generated. In conclusion, the company is not currently managing its solid waste in accordance with the regulations established by the Provincial Government of Tungurahua. Therefore, a solid waste management program must be developed that aligns with the Environmental Management Plan for category two companies or those with low environmental impact, which includes SÁNCHEZ EDY SPORT.

    The lack of adequate and efficient solutions for the treatment and final disposal of hazardous and special waste generated in the retreading industry enhances the increase in risk and possible contamination of the environment. For this reason, the objective of the research is to design an Environmental Management System based on the ISO 14001:2015standar for the company CauchoSierra S.A. The study consists of a field investigation since its purpose is to carry out a diagnosis of the initial situation of the company regarding compliance with the requirements of the ISO 14001:2015 standard. In addition, through the UNE 150008:2008 standard, the identification and evaluation of environmental risk was carried out, with the intention of determining the most critical risk. The results obtained once the checklist has been applied determine that there is 39% compliance with the requirements established in the ISO 14001:2015 standard. Likewise, through the evaluation of environmental risks, it is established that the risk related to the contamination of water and soil due to the generation of hazardous and special waste presents a high risk in the three evaluations environments. Finally, it is concluded that through the implementation of the Environmental Management System, the company reduces the generation of hazardous and special waste between 20 and 25 % in a period of one year.

    The lack of environmental regulations which regulate the activities that present considerable levels of risk to the environment triggers a series of serious problems in a hospital, among these problems are the generation of hazardous waste, mismanagement of resources, and excessive consumption of supplies by staff, so this research work aims to develop an environmental management system based on ISO 14001:2015 for the private hospital "Tungurahua" S.A. The project is based on a quali-quantitative approach because an initial diagnosis is made through a checklist which allows to determine the level of compliance with the requirements of the standard according to ISO 14001:2015 allowing in turn to identify the documentary needs of the hospital. Similarly, the UNE 150008:2008 standard aims to identify the environmental aspects and impacts that present some level of risk to the environment in which the hospital's activities are carried out. Once the checklist was applied, it was determined that the level of compliance with the standard is 20.92% with respect to its requirements. In addition, with the analysis and evaluation of the environmental risk, it was observed that the scenarios with a moderate level of risk are the generation of hazardous and infectious waste, as well as emissions to water through the sewage system and seismic events that may occur in the locality, among others. It is concluded that the implementation of environmental management system documentation is necessary as it will improve environmental performance and contribute to the financial interests of the hospital.

    El Trabajo de Titulación denominado “Sistema de gestión ambiental basado en la norma ISO 14001-2015 para la empresa Maquinarias Espín” se desarrolla con el objeto de estandarizar la gestión de los riesgos medio ambientales existentes en la empresa, que son resultado de las actividades de fabricación de maquinaria para el sector maderero y aserraderos. Inicialmente se realiza una evaluación de los riesgos con base en la metodología establecida en la norma GTC 104 “Gestión del riesgo ambiental. Principios y proceso”, con lo cual se determina que existían actividades que producen un nivel alto o extremo de riesgo de impacto al medio ambiente, entre ellas la soldadura, el forjado y el corte con plasma, los cuales afectan especialmente al aire y a la calidad de vida de los trabajadores. Adicionalmente se aplica un checklist basado en la norma ISO 14001-2015 “Sistemas de gestión ambiental. Requisitos con orientación para su uso”, que sirve para valorar la gestión ambiental de la empresa, con respecto a los ámbitos establecidos por la norma, el resultado determina un cumplimiento del 20% de los requisitos. Por esta razón, se diseña un Manual del Sistema de Gestión Ambiental, aplicable de forma íntegra, a través de los 10 ámbitos de la norma, como son: objeto y campo de aplicación, referencias normativas, términos y definiciones, contexto de la organización, liderazgo, planificación, apoyo, operación, evaluación del desempeño y mejora. Para verificar el cumplimiento de la norma se formula documentos y registros, de carácter obligatorio o voluntario, que sirven como evidencia de la gestión. Además se establece que la responsabilidad principal sea asignada al gerente general de Maquinarias Espín, quien cuenta con la colaboración del jefe de producción como Auditor interno de la gestión. Paralelamente al cumplimiento de los requisitos de la norma ISO 14001-2015, se considera las disposiciones legales vigentes en el Ecuador y en la Provincia de Tungurahua, de forma que la empresa cumpla con la responsabilidad de protección ambiental, como se encuentra establecido en su política ambiental. ABSTRACT This Work called "Environmental management system based on the ISO 14001-2015 standard for “Maquinarias Espín" enterprise was developed with the purpose of standardizing the management of the environmental risks existing in the enterprise, which are the result of the machinery manufacturing activities for the wood industry and sawmills. Firstly, a risk assessment was carried out based on the methodology established in the GTC 104 standard "Environmental risk management. Principles and process”, it determined that there were activities that produce a high or extreme level of risk of impact on the environment, including welding, forging, and plasma cutting, which especially affect the workers’ air and quality of life. Additionally, a checklist was applied based on the ISO 14001-2015 standard "Environmental management systems. Requirements with guidance for its use", which served to assess the enterprise environmental management, regarding the areas established by the standard, the result determined an accomplishment of 20% of the requirements. For this reason, a Manual for the Environmental Management System was designed, applicable integrally, through ten standard areas, such as: object and application field, normative references, terms and definitions, organization context, leadership, planning, support, operation, performance evaluation, and improvement. To verify the fulfillment of each of the standard aspects, documents and records were formulated, of a mandatory or voluntary nature, which serve as evidence of management. It was also established that the main responsibility of the Environmental Management System is assigned to the general manager of “Maquinarias Espín”, who will have the collaboration of the production manager, who will perform the function of an internal management auditor. Finally, it is necessary to highlight the fulfillment of the ISO 14001-2015 standard requirements, the legal disposals in force in Ecuador and Ambato regarding environmental management were considered, so that the enterprise fulfills integrally with the environmental protection responsibility, as established in its environmental policy.
