Item Ciclo biológico de oligonychus coffeae (Acari: Tetranychidae) en aliso (Alnus acuminata) y café (Coffea arabica) y el uso de extractos etanólicos complementarios para su control(2017) Paredes Carreño, Sara Nataly; Dávila Ponce, MartaTo determine the life cycle, fecundity, longevity, sexual proportion, life table, genetic variability of populations in different altitudinal levels and biological control of Oligonychus coffeae, laboratory studies were carried out in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the Technical University of Ambato. The mites were collected from different altitudinal floors located in the provinces of Tungurahua, Pastaza and Morona Santiago. The biology studies were performed on isolated leaves of Alnus acuminata and Coffea arabica. The total development time of O. coffeae in alder leaves was 41.70 ± 1.45 days whereas in coffee leaves it was 36.48 ± 1.61 days being shorter in the protonymph and deutochrysalis phases. The genetic variability of populations was evaluated from mite hatchlings in alder and coffee leaves collected different altitudinal floors, by means of RAPD-PCR using primers OPA01, OPA03, OPB10, OPB13. In the analysis of O. coffeae, a total of 112 bands were counted among all the initiators and the used plant materials, of which 10, 71% were polymorphic. Due to the importance of coffee and alder in Ecuador, the study of pests that attack these crops is important, therefore control is even more important. One of the viable initiatives for their control is the use of plant extracts. In order to check the effect of ethanolic extracts of leaves and test them in addition, different doses were applied to leaves infested with mites to determine their mortality, observing it at 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours.
