    Diseño y construcción de un molino de bolas planetario para el Laboratorio de Materiales de la Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica

    This technical project was carried out due to the importance of implementing a planetary ball mill for the crushing of fine powders and at the same time obtaining steel chip spraying for the materials laboratory of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Technical University of Ambato The project is oriented in the design, construction, and functional tests that at the same time is composed of a two-phase motor, pulleys and a variable speed drive among other devices, for this, different types of mills were investigated. In the theoretical and analytical, the selection of a two-phase motor was made according to the needs of the planetary ball mill, the main elements were designed such as the structure which will support the transmission system and other components. In addition, the axes have the function of generating the planetary movement by means of pulleys. A fundamental aspect is the size, weight and noise with which the machine was designed. The main parts of the mill are: variator, motor, shafts, vessels, pulleys, timer and transmission bands, etc. The project was designed with the intention of using it for powder metallurgy applications, in which fine steel powders will be obtained in a range of 45 to 250 microns. In addition, it will facilitate research carried out by students, teachers and thus create new mechanical alloys. Finally, the machine was built with materials that are resistant to corrosion, are available in the market and have an affordable cost for their respective construction.

    Transformación de una válvula termostática en una válvula regulada electrónicamente mediante el control de la temperatura del elemento termostático. aplicación al estudio del comportamiento estático y dinámico de un ciclo simple de refrigeración

    The research work focused on the transformation of a conventional thermostatic expansion valve (TXV), into an electronically regulated valve by controlling the temperature in the bulb and the design of a thermostatic expansion valve prototype, in order to provide with an expansion device that could be able to match the performance of a commercial expansion valve. Their behavior was studied through a static and dynamic study in a simple refrigeration system. For which, an analysis was made by means of comparison of experimental data against a mathematical model of the refrigeration bench. The mathematical model was programmed to predict the behavior of the cooling system and thus determine the optimal operating conditions. The idea is to maintain the degree of superheating at the outlet of the evaporator regardless of the operating conditions of the cooling system. This is obtained by resistances that surround the bulb of the thermostatic expansion valve. The data computed by the mathematical model was validated with the experimental data measured in the refrigeration bench. Once the results have been analyzed and compared, it is determined that it is possible to control degree of superhating at the evaporator outlet accurately.

    The present technical project was based on the study, design and construction of: a galvanized steel support plate, in addition to pulleys coupled to the motor shaft, which work by means of a belt transmission system, all these components are integrated to the 3w motor -85 xi, we also proceeded to the selection of the components for the power supply of the unmanned aerial vehicles of the CIDFAE, using the test bench duly implemented with aeromodelling equipment such as AC / DC converter, battery YTX9 - BS IGEL 12V, DC / DC converter, sending the signal through the Futaba r6014Hs receiver, and feeding the Futaba s3305 servos these equipment are correctly installed and controlled through a radio control managed by the corresponding technician of the institution and under a technical order, with the development of this project it was possible to generate autonomous energy with around 30 amps and 12 volts, contributing to the greater flight autonomy of the prototypes.

    The present project details the design and construction of an electromechanical blower for folding omega-type profiles up to 4 inches back, 2 inches high, and ¼ thick for the stainless steel tanks constructions. For the machine design were considered some parameters such as maximum radius of curvature, plastic deformation of stainless steel AISI 304 and different types of bulldozers. An alternatives analysis was performed to determine the best design option, establishing the technical parameters necessary to meet the requirements of the company. The force required to plastic deform the profile will be supplied by a hydraulic power plant which in turn drives a double acting actuator that is controlled by means of a directional valve which allows to govern the forward and backward of the same to give the profile the radius Of desired bending, so it is necessary to design a control circuit that allows to control the machine in a safe way. The principal systems systems that make up the profile metal forming machine are: Hydraulic power station, structure, Deforming rollers mechanism and the control system. Some safety parameters were also established to handle the equipment safely, so a maintenance schedule was developed.

    Adaptación de un Buggy con motor de combustión interna a un sistema eléctrico

    The following technical project is related about adaptation an electrical system to a tourist buggy, which had an internal combustion engine by origin, which electrical mechanical components were performed in the chassis of the Buggy. As a result, the use of new energies for transportation and technological innovations were reached. To reduce the pollution in the environment, noise, and the easy maintenance facility. It has been started from a chassis, and through the appropriate studies and analysis, was settle the components and their selection for the conversion of the Buggy which is driven by an electric engine. This one consists of a battery bank, a controller, and an electric engine of direct current (DC). Consequently, it was developed in two parts such as the mechanical and electrical. In the mechanical checking was based on the transmission system in the design and construction of the support for the electric engine as well as the gears and the chain previously calculated. In addition, the electrical part was based on the connections between the engine, batteries and controller which are linked by the correct operation. In conclusion, the Buggy operating system is developed by accelerating the pedal which is linked to a potentiometer which sends the signal to the controller and this one by a certain logic reaching that the engine turns more or less revolutions depending on the desire of the user. Additionally, the controller has other features such as reversing motor rotation and regeneration of energy; It means that it takes advantage of the rotation of the motor to charge the batteries when this one works like a generator, with sensors that warn when the speed is reduced (braking). The performance tests performed succeed obtaining a safe handling for the user achieving a maximum speed of 48 km / h on straight roads with an autonomy of 22 km.

    Estudio de un sistema de secado de camisetas estampadas para reducir los tiempos de producción en la fábrica Technology de la provincia de Tungurahua cantón Ambato

    El presente trabajo de investigación “Estudio de un sistema de secado de camisetas estampadas para reducir los tiempos de producción en la Fábrica Technology de la Provincia de Tungurahua Cantón Ambato” tiene como objetivo principal implementar un horno de secado a las líneas de producción, para así; agilitar los tiempos de producción teniendo un secado uniforme de la prenda y poder estar acorde con las exigencias del mercado nacional. Por medio de la información recopilada y un análisis ponderado en el cual se consideró aspectos como costo, tecnología, espacio, número de prendas y manejo, se pudo hacer la elección de un horno eléctrico que por sus características y funcionamiento, sus elementos que conforman el sistema y la manera de operación junto con el trabajo que realizarán cada uno de ellos, se pudo acoplar fácilmente a las líneas de producción. Una vez realizado el diseño de la máquina se procedió a adquirir sus componentes y se realiza un análisis económico y así determinar un costo de construcción aproximado del sistema de secado de camisetas estampadas. Al finalizar el proyecto se presenta la selección del material y elementos, como también se anexará los planos y especificaciones de su construcción. En la elección final trata de un horno eléctrico con banda transportadora para realizar el secado de camisetas estampadas, se considerará como elemento primordial su cámara térmica la cual consta de una resistencia eléctrica de 3000 W y una termocupla con la cual se controlará la temperatura en su interior, seguido de una banda transportadora de teflón con fibra de vidrio que será la encargada de transportar la camiseta estampada hacia la cámara térmica su velocidad está controlada por medio de un variador de frecuencia SIEMENS.
