Given the transportation difficulties faced by the residents of the San Andrés parish, this project proposes to substantially improve the road infrastructure in this area. By optimizing the road that connects the Yanayacu bridge with Píllaro between sections 0+000 and 4+875, productive and tourist activities will be facilitated, generating new development opportunities for the Tungurahua sector. The project was structured into three main phases. The first phase corresponded to the preliminary studies, which included fieldwork such as topographic surveys and vehicle counts to determine the ADT of the road. Subsequently, in the second phase, soil studies were conducted, including destructive and non-destructive tests, to characterize the physical and mechanical properties of the soil, as well as the pavement deflections. Finally, in the third phase, using the data obtained in the previous phases, the geometry of the road was redesigned, taking into account the newly calculated TPDA, the soil characteristics, and the applicable technical standards. In this phase, the horizontal, vertical, and transverse design was defined, as well as the other geometric elements. Additionally, a budget was prepared that includes all the costs associated with the construction of the new road, thus ensuring the project's viability. The topographic analysis revealed a mountainous terrain with steep slopes, while the traffic study classified the road as class I. The soil tests indicated a sandy loam material with a CBR of 19.18 percent suitable for subgrade. The results of the deflection measurements with the Benkelman beam showed that 89 percent of the evaluated track length needs reconstruction. Based on these results, the pavement structure was redesigned, consisting of a 7.5 cm asphalt layer, a 15 cm base, and a 20 cm subbase. Finally, the estimated budget calculated for this project was $1´686,962.16

This technical project explains, in an orderly and systematic sequence, the redesign of an oil-hydraulic press for forming galvanized tubes 1 inch in diameter and 2 millimeters thick. The shaping of this material initially depends on the skill and strength of the worker; however, it seeks to improve the process by controlling the limit switch, in addition to eliminating the operation of force through the use of a hydraulic cylinder. In the present, the determination of parameters was carried out by establishing ranges: pressures, end-of-stroke adjustments and piston advance speed. Necessary elements and devices were calculated through bibliographic research, in addition to the calculation of: loads and dimensions. Consecutively, components were selected for the three systems: structural, oil-hydraulic and control; mechanisms which are based both on the established parameters and on the calculations made. The validity of the project was also determined through performance tests that provide an error of less than 1 percent and a forming time of 10 seconds per piece. At the end of the project, an oil-hydraulic press with a control system capable of performing 340 shapes per hour, with end-of-run control and drive by electric panel, was delivered to the ¨Casimiros¨ metalworking company.

This technical project is aimed at solving the problems of functioning and operation of the JAAPNSE conduction network, with this work is intended to ensure a constant water conduction service that improves the quality of life of users. To this purpose, we proceeded to evaluate the existing conduction system by applying a qualitative approach through observation cards that allowed recording the state of the conduction network components, as well as a quantitative approach mainly oriented to simulate the current network through hydraulic modeling software to obtain values of pressures, velocities and contrast them with the current Ecuadorian regulations; the evaluation allowed identifying the real operating conditions of the system. With this, the conduction network was redesigned based on the current operating problems, as well as a new design period, considering the parameters and recommendations established in the standards CPE INEN 5 PARTE 9-1:1992, CPE INEN 5 PARTE 9-2:1997 and the NORMAS DE DISEÑO DE SISTEMAS DE AGUA POTABLE – EMAAP-Q. As a result, a technical proposal was elaborated consisting of plans, calculation memory, reference budget, price analysis and technical specifications, these documents guarantee the correct construction process and functionality of the system that would benefit a total of 3646 people, with a horizon to the year 2052.
